I'm riding it out in northern Fort Bend County west of Houston. I'm basically screwed. The wife has to work at the nearby hospital. It is impossible to board up my house and I couldn't even if it was possible. There's no plywood to be found.
People are using cheap panelling as a substitute which has no chance of success.
There really isn't a safe room in the house. Even the bathrooms have windows. We will be lucky if we get power restored in a week assuming the roof stays on, so it may be quite awhile before I check back in.
Stay safe, everyone.

I too am staying in Sugar Land. My wife, daughter and mother in law who lives nearby, along with my wife's younger sister and her husband are leaving for Ft Worth tomorrow morning. They just found three rooms at one place so there must be others in the area.
I'm staying and my 22 year old son insists he is staying with me, so I may have to drug him and load him in the car. I have everything I will need for about ten days, other than power. If the roof goes, well it has been nice knowing y'all.
Good luck all y'all.........

Hey pup,
go find a good stout community building, hospital to volunteer at or some other heavily built structure prior to its arrival....it will take your mind off the house.
