U.S. thanks India for its support in IAEA vote on Iran

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States on Saturday hailed a resolution passed by the U.N.'s nuclear watchdog that required Iran to be referred to the U.N. Security Council over its nuclear plans and thanked India for backing Washington's bid to isolate Tehran.

"This is a significant step forward in the international effort to isolate Iran and a setback for Iran's nuclear strategy," said U.S. Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns in a conference call with reporters.

Earlier on Saturday, the International Atomic Energy Agency's board in Vienna passed a resolution requiring Iran to be reported to the U.N. Security Council at an unspecified date over a failure to convince the agency its nuclear program was entirely peaceful.

The Bush/Bolton/Rice diplomacy has been amazingly successful...so much so that the corrupt news media resists talking about much of it.

Our nuclear deal with India earlier this year no doubt persuaded the great subcontinent to vote with us instead of with the jihadists who are killing Indians in Kashmir...greatly confusing the left-wing press (because they are accustomed to India reflectively voting against the U.S.).

Also in play is that the U.S. is backing India's ascension to the permanent UN Security Counsel (i.e. a UN Veto).

The vote breakdown:

The United States, Australia, Britain, France, Germany, Canada, Argentina, Belgium, Ghana, Ecuador, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Slovakia, Japan, Peru, Singapore, South Korea, and India voted for the resolution.

In addition to our normal allies on this issue, thanks are extended to Ghana for doing the right thing.

Pakistan, Algeria, Yemen, Brazil, China, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, and Vietnam abstained, while Venezuela voted against the resolution.

Putin's Russia assisting the mullahs in their drive for offensive nuclear weaponry makes Moscow our enemy.

Red China as well, assisting the jihadic beast.

Mexico (siding with Iran is really something we need to remember.)

Pakistan (rouge Pakie scientists working for Iran)

Algeria (OPEC comrade)

Yemen (Fellow Shi'ites)

Tunisia (Islamic appeaser)

...and a very, very sincere thanks to much lobbying and good education from US immigrants from India! With their knowledge of both countries, they are probably our most important and informative international and inter-cultural liaison! I look forward to learning.

Thanks, it just looked so obvious. The main thing is if Iran's mullah régime is able to instigate something very rash & unthinkable prior to being confronted, and Tehran's dangerous & irrational actions just somehow adversely affect some of those nations 'abstaining' on this crucial vote, guess who will come crying to US for assistance. :)

Your above post seems to say that only Venezuela voted with the mad mullahs against this Resolution.

Bear in mind that China or Russia voting against it would have killed it (they have UN veto power).

Thanks! Although, I only wish that most Indian immigrants have the "right" view. They are generally very liberal. In that sense, I am a small minority.

At least the Indian Government saw the light on the other side and crossed over. This bodes very well for the two countries, and the world in general.

The beauty of France and Germany siding with the US position is clearly a result of Iran humiliating them in front of the world.
