Well .. we don't get paid to show up .. which is a big difference. Most of their "protestors" were college age who got paid to make the trip - and were bussed in. How do I know that .. because that's the method ANSWER always uses. Their "protest" is not a spontaneous grassroots effort - it's a paid program.
And .. there were MILLIONS WATCHING AT HOME. If the media was so hot for this "protest" - surprisingly they weren't showing it on TV - they were wall-to-wall hurricane coverage. LOL!
And .. I heard that "Mother Sheehan" was jealous that the media was not covering their protest - but instead was focusing on the hurricane. Go figure! Another display of the party of caring and compassion.
I don't know which side you mean when you say "does not make your side right".
I am on the *right* side.
It is not the size that counts, but how you use it!
I agree...in fact, I have been thinking about that all afternoon....we can never compete with their numbers, since we are employed, have families, kids in school and just cannot take off and head to DC for one of these events, especially on a Sun afternoon....I guess that is why we are considered to be the silent majority.....if you can think of a way, let me know.
Just got a call from our friends who lost their son in Iraq. They walked over to Ms. Sheenan and pulled out the cross and ripped up their son's picture they had on it. They told her that she doesn't speak for them - they said it made them feel better.
Prat for W and Our Freedom Winning Troops
Sheenan = Sheehan - oops
Sheenan = Sheehan - oops
For me to abandom my duties for a rally in DC, would have been to betray the same soldiers that we all support.
Yes, we do have jobs and sometimes, very important jobs.
If we were not in DC this weekend, there is often a good and valid reason as to why not.
There is no need to "outnumber" these pschitts. There is a need to do our best. If and when we do, you might be surprised at what happens.
Although it isn't always obvious, in politics as in the rest of life, there is always SOME relationship between effort and reward.
Perhaps, but I just don't think protests matter unless there are lots of them, over short periods of time, with massive numbers of people.
The Vietnam War protests made a difference. I can't think of any others, in the last 30 years, that have.
Most of us can't....I would have loved to go...but my hubby, who served in Iraq, is now in NO helping there....You see, we have things to do...our actions speak louder than words.
Wonderfully said. I sometimes think we on the Right are just not the rallying kind. The Left are certainly the protesting kind and that makes our side look pathetic, numberswise at least.
the presence of the draft was the main reason why the vietnam era protests were larger - which is why the left is always pushing for a return to the draft.
We know that, but the rats and MSM will always make it a competition....
Makes me feel better too. Thank your friends for us, will you?
That's OK. The anti-troops/anti-America rally on Saturday had tens, not thousands, of people who actaully showered within the last week. Plus most of there "attendees" were bought and paid for.
