Christian School Expels Girl for Having Gay Parents

ONTARIO, Calif. — A Christian school expelled a 14-year-old student because her parents are lesbians, the school's superintendent said in a letter. Shay Clark was expelled from Ontario Christian School (search) on Thursday. "Your family does not meet the policies of admission," Superintendent Leonard Stob wrote to Tina Clark, Shay's biological mother. The school's policy states that at least one parent cannot engage in practices "immoral or inconsistent with a positive Christian life style such as cohabitating without marriage or in a homosexual relationship," Stob wrote. Shay and her parents said they will not fight the ruling. Shay will attend public school next week. Stob could not be reached for comment. School administrators learned of the parents' relationship this week after Shay and another cheerleader were reprimanded for talking to the crowd during a Sept. 16 football game, according to Clark and her partner, Mitzi Gray. After school officials told Clark that her daughter could no longer attend the school, the mother was ordered to remove Shay from cheerleading practice, collect the girl's belongings and leave the property.

An energetic discussion is going on here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1489890/posts

Your input would be great, especially since you know the school.

Check out the other thread. That possibility has been brought up. The info from the article says that the parents aren't fighting the expulsion, so it may not be case.

Just because they aren't fighting the expulsion doesn't mean they aren't gonna sue to relieve the "pain and suffering"..........

Christian school, their rules.

Public school, have all the perverted definitions of "family" you want.

My brother is superintend of a Christian school in the same area. They asked a sheik child to not wear his head dress as it violated the school dress codes. The parents took the school to court under the freedom of religion garble.
The judge told them it was a private school and the school could set its own rules.
It was appealed and appealed and appealed. It cost the school a fortune.
My brother said even if they lost at the last level he would go to jail rather than cave on principle. The parents finally gave up after losing every appeal.
It is my hope the "mock" parents of this girl do not attempt to do the same to Ontario Christian.

Pray for the daughter and the "parents" that they turn to Christ.

I'm all for it.

By using children as a sympathy-getter gays will infest our school system.

It should be cut-off NOW..nipped in the bud..stopped.

No such thing as "gay parents" anyway..that defies nature.

Shay and her parents said they will not fight the ruling.

That's good. They knew the rules when they signed the kid up.

Seems fine to me.

Embracing sin as a way of life is anathama to Christainity (or should be...). If her parents were professional hit men/women, or professional theifs etc, or members of a swingers club, I would expect the same decree.

I agree to a point. And I certainly agree the school has a right to take or deny any student they wish. I just hope we all realize that all sin is an anathama to God. Not just ual sins and not just other peoples. Our own, too.

"...learned of the parents' relationship this week after Shay and another cheerleader were reprimanded for talking to the crowd during a Sept. 16 football game..."

AP doesn't seem to want to tell us what they were "talking to the crowd" about. But I can guess. Makes me wonder why these "parents" wanted Shay enrolled there.

I disagree with this decision. If anyone could use a good, solid Christian education, it's this poor girl. It's not her fault that her immoral "parents" are using her for thir own selfish purposes.
