The printing business, the military, any subject--it doesn't matter. The collective knowledge/expertise of 100,000+ individuals will dwarf any news bureau or collection of political hacks. Not every poster knows, but someone will have the resources or know where it can be found in order to get to the truth.

Conversely, any misstatements, half-truths or misinformation will be challenged. It's the ultimate in freedom of the press.

"Journalism" has always been the last resort for the terminally stupid.
Those unable to hack it in any real intellectual pursuit; the bottom of the gene pool; those with very high self-esteem and no smarts.

Personally I would be embarrassed to not know the difference between "peripheral" spacing (whatever that might be) and proportional spacing, no matter what profession I am in. and then compound the ignorance by publishing it in a book!
