Protest Therapy
New York Post ^ | September 27, 2005 | RALPH PETERS

LAST weekend, 100,000 Americans protested in Washington, demanding that we bring our troops home now. It was a fascinating installment in our nation's self-therapy craze.

Set aside the get-Bush-at-any-cost political hustlers, the earnest college students not yet seasoned by reality, the Jew-baiting free-Palestine detachments and the very few who have thought seriously about the war and found it lacking.

You're left with the legions of Cindy Sheehan wannabes — meandering souls who, were they only capable of honesty, would be wearing t-shirts that read, "It's not about the war, it's about me!"

Were we able to psychologically profile the demonstrators, we'd find that most of them have a great deal in common: Disappointing lives, failed relationships and the desperate need for a cause of any kind. If we weren't at war, they'd be marching to save pinworms from drug-company aggression.

Of course, opposing a war involving American troops is the best cause of all. Our country has disappointed the protesters intimately — failing to hand them, free and clear, the lives to which they feel themselves entitled. So forget that our troops are re-enlisting at record rates and willingly risking their lives in a war they believe in. The self-satisfying cry of the demonstrators is "Bring Our Troops Home Now!"

Very good, except for repeating the contention that there were 100,000 people there.

I wonder if anyone of note in the blogworld has actually checked with the DC police and see if they stated the crowd was 100,000.

"It's not about the war, it's about me!"

Did you ever notice who shows up at these anti-war protests?

The dregs of American society. They are the communists, the anarchists, the socialists, the far-left Democrats, the unemployed, drug abusers, welfare-state supporters, environmental-wackos, etc, etc.

Basically, these folks are societies malcontents.

They never provide solutions or work with others to solve our countries problems.

They simply complain like spoiled, uneducated children.

They contribute nothing but damage to the fabric of the USA.

Yep, They have been educated to HATE America, it's values and POWER..so many would feel that any act the reduces America's influence or power is JUST. Misguided, useful idiots who have never got over their Hate of a Father figure(America) perhaps..lost souls who would destroy the USA to bring in systems that assure everyone the misery they find in their own lives..So much wasted time and energy for an ultimate evil end.

Here is a scene from the protest in LA. Notice the communist and revolutionary element.

It's hard to process such titanic stupidity in that image, of seeing pictures of doves on a Communist banner while thinking of gulags.

Any thinking man knows that the three holding that banner are as dangerous as any BrownShirt, or a serial murderer who still moves in the shadows. Why aren't we locking them up?

"Why aren't we locking them up?"

I am aghast!...........I am stupefied!........How dare you be sooooooo Insensitive and, sooooooo uncaring!

This country was founded on free thought and speech. People have given their very lives so that we in America can have free speech.

In fact, our soldiers have and are currently dying in Iraq and Afghanistan to defend our nation so that that we can continue to be a nation that has this right: and you just want to......... lock them up?

How inhumane.

They should at least be lobotomized before locking them up. /sarcasm
