There is a compound here in Virginia that doesn't allow police inside their facility. If the police want to speak to someone, they have to ask at the gate and wait for the person to be brought to them (if at all)

And that's the way it's supposed to be, unless there's a search warrant...

Search warrant only applies to your dwelling and/or searching. Police can come to your door if they like.
