There was a great music scene out of Glasgow in the late 70s to 80s, and probably still is. The bad atmosphere bred creativity, and fueled musical emotion. Some of my favorite bands came out of that.

I must agree, for the most part. There's definitely a growing South Asian population that's responsible for some amount of violence and crime, but I just saw neds, nedettes, and non-neds kicking the crap out of each other.

This research methodology might be flawed because how do you go about having a telephone interview with a corpse? Maybe a more accurate title to the article would be, "U.N. Research Says Scots are very hard to kill."

Scotland is the most violent country in the developed world... according to a United Nations study.

I don't know about all that, but from what I can see, if you want to look for violent places, one need only look to where the U.N. is on duty. Graft, rape, plunder, pillage-- that's where you'll find U.N. officials or/and U.N. troops.
