Republicans Ready for a Fight

Republicans Ready for a Fight It has no been almost one year since the Republican Party received a huge mandate in the 2004 elections. The results: NOTHING. Not entirely nothing as some issues have progressed, but in moral and social issues we have gotten nowhere. By now you are probably either asking your self why or answering that question in you head. For those of you that might be a little bit behind, or are just preoccupied, here is the answer: Republicans in Congress and the White House are playing political games. With the exception of nominating Judge Roberts, President Bush is not pushing the issues we want to fight for: social security, school vouchers, Medicare and Medicaid cuts, less business restriction and tax reform. And neither are the Republicans in Congress, they are carefully stepping through the mine field not wanting to start a war. Well it’s time for that to end. We have been sitting hear for almost a year waiting and waiting. Our guns poised to fire and ready to fire, but no command has come down. No leader has taken charge and President Bush seems to be overly busy with other work. The Republican Party has fight in it, it just needs to be put to use, someone needs to light the fuse, and we need to stop wasting the precious months and years. Let’s Roll.

True. That political capital Dubya talked about vanished without much to show for it. This was a dreadful summer for him. The worst part was that he made it easier for his critics, not harder.

Did Dubya wisely use that political capital he talked about in January? What do we have to show for it besides him alienating much of the electorate?

Call em like they are: Dubya has been a dud for most of 2005.

Stay tuned

There is fight in the grand old party yet.

You have to understand when to pick your fights. How to keep your powder dry. Do not fire till you see the whites of their eyes and all that rot.

There is set up and there is delivery.

Clinton was all about showmanship and getting good press.

George Walker Bush is all about actually doing something and making a difference. If you don't know the difference then you are part of the problem, not part of the solution.

To take Dan Rather WAY OUT OF CONTEXT, courage.

Well let's see. We didn't run out of Iraq with our tails between our legs. We didn't sell out to the Euro weenies, the UN, North Korea or Iran. We haven't had a tax hike. The left has gone totally mad an is imploding before our eyes. We won't have 2 new lefty members of the Supreme Court or more leftists federal judges, etc, etc.

Ya right, we got "nothing"

"Republicans Ready for a Fight" ??

THAT I would like to see! Why do I doubt that there even IS a republican party anymore? When was the last time there was a real republican party here in Arkansas?

We do have a couple of TRUE conservatives, but the ones that call themselves republicans (like the rino "right rev guv huckabee") are better suited for their tea parties than political parties.

Speaking of our "Right Rev Guv" Huckabee (aka the Huckster) ...

"Governor Huckabee has renewed his frustrations with FEMA, saying that information was not readily available from federal authorities in the wake of Hurricane Katrina."

He cannot keep his leftist crybaby mouth shut for five minutes without pandering to the jesse jacksons and sheenah bitches of the world. Every day he sounds more and more like john f'n kerry.

Oh man, how this crap gets old.

Unfortunately, I see there is still a contingent of FReepers who believe and pay attention to the MSM. You do yourself a disservice.

It would be nice if once, just once, I could come here and find FReepers reveling in victory, instead of bitching and moaning even though we control EVERY BRANCH OF GOVERNMENT.

It just gets so effin old.

Amen, PD!

I have had it up to the eyeballs with the armchair quarterbacks, who think "nothing" has been accomplished. Did they think that the media and the Rats were going to go away nicely? Anything that President Bush has accomplished is never enough for these people.

And I am fed up to the eyeballs with the pundits (supposedly on our side) who don't have enough nerve to stand up to the leftists in the media. Michael Brown had more gumption in his testimony today than any 10 people writing columns and/or appearing on the news channels.

I am fed up with all of the carpers. I can't be any plainer than that.

Republican Party received a huge mandate in the 2004

Hey Gipper, another recruit for the Mike Pence revolution. Please add him to the Operation Offset ping list.

A 1.5 margin of victory is not a "huge mandate". Ever heard of Mike Pence and Operation Offset? Got any idea how hard the Pres has been fighting for Soc Sec reform all year only to have the weak kneed ed Congressional Leadership bail on him? Read any of the half dozen Immigration Reform plans? Got any idea how important to the future of the Country having Pres Bush pick the next Chief Justice and other SC Justice is? Turn off the Dinosaur Media, spend a lot more time here at Free Republic, listening to Talk Radio and reading the blogs. There is a LOT going on the Dinosaur Media doesn't want you to know about.

You revel in victory when you win, and only for a short time.

Then you get to work enacting the laws your base sent you there to enact. Reveling accomplishes absolutely nothiing.

When you do nothing with what you've won, you've earned whatever crticism you get.
