As you probably know, the very partisan Travis County D.A. recently manufactured an indictment against me that is based on charges from the 2002 Texas State House elections.

These charges are groundless and false. I am completely innocent.

Just as Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and other public officials have defeated similar attacks from this D.A., I will prove his allegations are baseless and without merit.

Despite this partisan distraction, I will continue to represent you and fight for the interests of our community.

I’m attaching links to a brief legal analysis as well as some quotes from other sources about what is happening and why.

I hope you’ll take a moment now to read them or visit my Website for even more background.

Thank you and I look forward to keeping you up to date.

       Sincerely,

       Tom DeLay

This hasn't been posted yet. Just thought people would like to hear it in Tom's own words.

It would be GREAT if the Republicans would call for a press conference immediately today.....and demand the indictment of the ham sandwich.

Wow. The damage is done. Unbelievable a county as ultra liberal as Travis can get it's hooks into this representative.

No duh they could find a grand jury in Austin. This is a blue state lynching of a red state representative, all in one state.

Travis County. That explains a lot!!

Travis County is The Peoples DUmbocRATik Repubelik of Austin -- the only nasty blue pimple in the middle of our lovely red State.

I hope DeLay kicks that DUmbAustin DA's sorry @$$!!!!!

A caller from Texas called Michael Savage last night, and said that Earle 'runs a whore house for men.' This man should be chased back to the black hole from whence he comes as soon as possible.

I would like to ask....and tell me if I am wrong, why the Republicans can take the high ground all the time when it comes to exposing crime and crookedness in the ranks of the Dems....but constantly have to take barrage after barrage of pure lies and innuendo from the Dems.

When is the right time to fight fire with fire??? The Dems have no consciences. They will destroy someone for no reason except to benefit their sick socialist agenda. They are despicable and the sooner the politicians in the
GOP see this the better.

It is time to go on the defensive.

Most excellent for politicians to use the Inet to communicate to constituencies instead of betting on flaky biased Olds Media entertainment product to get their message out.

Thank you for the post.

It is time for all Republicans, including President Bush, to stand united and support, and defend, Tom Delay.

We have watched the obviously guilty Clintons, Sandy Burglar, and countless other libs, be allowed to walk away from egregious criminal behavior with only a slap on the hand, if that much, and barely a peep out of the MSM.

We must not allow these hate-filled, power-hungry, agenda-driven, partisan hacks to get away with destroying an effective leader with a bunch of politically motivated, trumped up charges, and media campaign.

I would love to see the names of the Grand Jury posted along with their names and addresses. It is not a secret organization. They were appointed by a District Judge. In Travis County that usually means liberal.

I see the foreman’s signature on the charging document, and could not tell you his name.

Once on the news yesterday Ronnie Earle reffered to them as a runaway Grand Jury. Wish I had taped that.

I hope Bush will launch an FBI and USAG investigation into this Travis County crook.

I predict that by the time this is all over Ronnie Earle will have occasion to regret ever entering the law profession.

Nothing will change until we fight fire with fire. We can all fool ourselves as to the imminent victory of civility and decency, like a collection of dinner party guests during a home invasion, but at some point...(sigh) you need to bash their frikkin' heads in with a baseball bat. If you disagree, fine. Go ahead and lose, with grace and aplomb.

I totally agree with you.

I might also add:

With close to 50% of the population loathing any president/party we elect, we are inching towards civil war.

The left can't fairly win an election and they'll do anything to reverse that. When they cross the line, and they will, it's good bye to our peace and tranquility.

We CAN avoid civil war...if we completely change our modus operandi. The Left is like a spoiled child, but they are dangerous adults. If we continue to indulge their insane tirades, with no contest, and continue to throw our good people over the side - we will come to bloodshed as the appeasement fails to work (does it ever?), and it reaches the point of no return - civil war.

However..if we collectively start getting in their faces with our white-hot rage, and stick a finger shaking with anger, in their childishly immature ranting faces - you'd be amazed at what it does. They back down like the cowardly brattish 5-year olds that they essentially are. It could happen.

But sometimes I'm so beyond outrage that I say "Bring it on", because I'd like them to suffer the inevitable outcome.
