Children do seem to bring some horrible things home our receptionist has 2 children and I think half the things that go around our company come from her.

POLLING UPDATE . . .

While I believe ALL current polls are BOGUS (given that they ALL oversample Democrats/Democrat-leaning Independents), the following polling results serve as a pleasant 'IN YOUR FACE' to the Mediacrats and rightwing whiners who use polls to bash the President:

GALLUP/USATODAY/CNN
'adults only'

9/26-28/05 45% approve 50% disapprove
9/16-18/05 40% approve 58% disapprove
[. . . an improvement of +13]

These results forced CNN/USATODAY to write the following:

BUSH'S JOB APPROVAL BOUNCES BACK A BIT
By Richard Benedetto, USA TODAY

WASHINGTON — President Bush's job-approval rating, which fell back to the lowest level of his presidency after Hurricane Katrina, has rebounded slightly after the public gave him higher marks for handling Hurricane Rita, a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll shows.

Bush's overall job approval rose from 40% a week and a half ago — a low point he also hit shortly before Katrina, when bad news from Iraq intensified as he vacationed at his Texas ranch — to 45% now. At the same time, his disapproval dropped from 58%, the worst of his presidency, to 50%. (Related item: Poll results)

That puts his approve-disapprove rating about where it was in early August, before Katrina and Rita. Bush, faced with public discontent over the war in Iraq and high gasoline prices, has been below 50% approval for about five months.

Bush was boosted in the latest poll by a public feeling that he did a better job responding to Hurricane Rita, which struck Texas and Louisiana Sept. 24, than he did with Katrina, which hit Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi Aug. 29.

Overall, 71% SAID THEY APPROVE OF BUSH'S HANDLING OF RITA, which was marked by presidential trips to the region before, during and after the storm. Just 40% said they approve of his handling of Katrina, which was marred by a slow federal response after the storm.

[. . . an improvement of +8 // The President's JA among Republicans in mid-80s!!]

NEW YORK — Voters are fed up. Majorities say they are tired of partisan fighting, high gas prices and the war in Iraq. A plurality thinks it would be better for the country if Democrats win next year’s congressional elections, though President George W. Bush (search) has the edge over Democrats for having a better plan for handling Iraq. In addition, the president’s job approval rating is back up to its pre-Katrina level this week. These are just some of the finding of a new FOX News nation-wide poll of registered voters.
