The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Home grown Islamists may hit US: FBI chief

WASHINGTON -- The United States could be attacked by "home grown" Islamist terror groups, the FBI's chief has warned.

FBI Director Robert Mueller told the London Financial Times newspaper in an interview published Thursday that the United States could face attacks from "home-grown terrorism" very similar to the July 7 bombings in London that killed 52 people and wounded another 700, Mueller said.

When asked if the United States could face such attacks from "home-grown groups", Mueller answered emphatically: "Absolutely, it could," the Financial Times said.

Verrazano Bridge Gets Extra Protection

(New York -WABC, October 29, 2005) - The huge cables that support the verrazano bridge are going to get some extra protection against a possible terror attack.

The MTA says the cables will be encased in a strong, bomb resistant material.

It's the same material used to protect black hawk helicopters.

My guess is that those who might fail the course, do not go to take it.

Or, they are broke and without a job, so take the little they have learned to al Qaeda or underground.

The thought that I had was that Russia has trained a lot of them and I would be curious to know how for which countries.

N. Korea, would be first on the list, Pakistan and Cuba too.

Thanks for the report ffnj. Seems we continue to see bridge threats. Wonder is it's a smoke screen.

OPNION/Speculation/My $0.02:
A high body count is going to do nothing but make us angry enough to use nukes. AQs objectives are to get us out of the ME and make us submit to shari law. Our Achilles’ heel is our economy. Since we no longer manufacture anything in the US, if our economy can be damaged to the point were we can’t buy our war supplies we will have to withdraw and they will win.

That’s why the ‘authorities’ are telling us to continue shopping.

That’s why we continue to see the threats to our infrastructure.

It is here and going full force, in every corner of the world, the only requirement is that you be of a different religion than the radical muslim.

About 10 years ago, the Highway Patrol stopped me for an expired tag, I had it in my purse, the Officer told me to go and put it on and then he showed me how, after it was on, to take a knife and score it.

4 or 5 cuts each way, will make it so that it cannot be removed.

He said that there were a lot of thefts of them here too.

Strange Odor On Container Ship Sickens 9
October 31, 2005

SEATTLE - Nine people were taken to the hospital Monday morning after some complained of feeling dizzy after smelling a strange odor on a container ship.

Police sent a Hazmat team to Terminal 5 at the Port of Seattle just after 8 a.m. after reports of an odor on board the Hyundai Emperor. When crews arrived, they found six people reporting feeling dizzy from the fumes.

Crews sent those six to the hospital to be checked out, as well as three others who were nearby as a precaution. None of the problems were serious.

Investigators were never able to find any toxic fumes on board, so they turned the case over to an environmental contractor to follow up.
