Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.7 Released

Thursday September 29th, 2005

Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.7 is now available for download. Amongst other changes, this minor release includes fixes for a return receipt regression introduced in version 1.0.2 (bug 289091) and the Linux command line URL parsing security flaw.

Thunderbird 1.0.7 can be downloaded from the Thunderbird product page or the Thunderbird 1.0.7 directory on ftp.mozilla.org. Refer to the Thunderbird 1.0.7 Release Notes for more information. We expect details of the security fixes in this release to be added to the Mozilla Foundation's list of known security vulnerabilities soon.

I'm sorry you think I "jumped you" it wasn't intended that way. I read quite well. Read the above posts and you'll find that I have already installed 1.07 at the free site where I went as soon as I was directed there.

Old age is getting to me though. I have cataracts and the white bright back ground on a page hurts my eyes after a while. They are not bad enough to operate on yet, just bad enough to be annoying.

You are suppose to uninstall older versions of firefox before you install a new one. Your bookmarks and settings will be retained because they are not erased when you uninstall.

If you are using Mozilla/Firefox, you can change your background to a different color: under the Edit menu, there should be a Preferences; from there, you should find be able to find a reference to Appearance, and from there you should find a way to set your colors. To change Free Republic's background color, you will need to check the box to "Always use my colors".

I found one big difference. The Beta version I have been using has spell checker as you type, much like MS Word. I like that feature and the new non Beta release doesn't have the feature. Thanks for the information.
