Thanks for posting that link. It's true, America better wake up and confront the jihadist enemy lurking within.

"If you want to understand crazy people, you will spend your life in a hopeless mission. Crazy is as crazy does."

I don't think it's that difficult. There are millions and millions of people on the face of the earth that will/have/shall/are doing all kinds of crazy things that will accomplish their joint goal of establishing a one-world superstate under Islamic control.

The stadium incident (even with the limited information we have) points to jihad much more than it does a lone, distressed, non-Islamic. Therefore, the comments here that infer that it is a jihad bombing are being made by those folks who are making a logical deduction based on the number of crazies that live in this country, and what their brother and sister crazies are doing all over the world.

If this was a jihad suicide/homicide bombing, it was the first on our soil and an ominous signal. I don't think we want to get used to having to step over body parts on our way to the donut shop as other countries have.

I'm sure the 'government' will do something to prevent that from happening.

And yes, I partially agree. Crazy is as crazy does. And there are a lot of them out there, all with the same goal. It is not hard to understand at all.

Thanks -- I had not even heard about their bombing.

The detonation by police of a found backpack was reported on here last night, but it was not confirmed whether the detonation triggered a secondary explosion which would be verification of a second bomb.

"OMG is right! Does anyone have any information that the President of UO had a sweep of the stadium before the game?

Someone posted right after the attack that Boren had the stadium swept before the game. Is this true, and if so WHY?

This all seems so hush-hush to me that it's scary."

It has to be SOP in all stadiums now. Has to be. I witnessed FBI in tactical gear at a high school football night game.

It wouldn't surprise me after the things that came out after 9-11.

Maybe some guy had carried ammo in his back pack not long ago?

Or maybe the bomb was carried there in that backpack, and taken out before it was detonated.

The problem with shutting down cell phone service is that the cell phone is a vital communications link for doctors, safety forces, utilities, and others. It serves as backup in many cases, and is primary communications for anybody that is on the road.

That doesn't mean they wouldn't do it, or haven't in the past. It would be smart, if only for an hour or two. A little inconvenience, in having to find alternate communications, or not having the backup available, is nothing compared to a few hundred or thousand people getting blown up.

I think you're correct, it was too loud for a pipe bomb. At least one that I would think could be carried easily. I'm no explosives expert, and what explosives I have ever used was limited to those shot off aircraft onto targets miles away. You don't hear/feel those go off. But as you know this was a deep felt boom. It also sounded to me like a big trash dumpster being rattled at the same time. Guess that was all the loose stuff within the blast radius resonating from the shock wave.

Actually, Fox was not reporting the second device until just now. So it's not "last night's news" but setting the record straight.

Remember the guy with the long beard that he used to tie in front and was also arrested as an accomplice to Moussouri (sp)? Wonder what happened to him? He was so creepy. Haven't seen him back in Norman and hope I never do.

If this was a terrorist, I'm not surprised they didn't think of this sooner. Afterall, where else can you walk around with a backpack and not arouse any suspicion. Our universities are the perfect target.

Could be. I talked to my son and he said his cell phone didn't work at halftime when he tried to call back up to his sister about the pizza she wanted and my daughter's wouldn't work then to send out a text message with the score.

No arguments from me. I happen to be intimately familiar with cellular/PCS and PSTN. Suffice to say, first responders are given priority when TSHTF. A lot was learned from the OKC incident, as well as WTC I and II.

I apologize - I got a little carried away in the last reply. It's just that a lot of people that are called upon in major events are NOT in the database, even though they ought to be. A lot of my people do carry employer-provided cell phones and even Satellite phones which I would hope are up in the heirarchy somewhere. But some don't have those tools, either by choice or lack of availability. Those are the ones that would be difficult to contact if any troubles arose involving our transmission grid, whether they were already on duty or at home.

The fact was stated here that the local cable feed went down shortly after this incident. This is to be predicted, so as not to allow anyone involved to perform an analysis on the effect and the response plan execution. Personally, I have no doubt that this bombing incident was planned and coordinated. I also have no problem with ther being zero live coverage, for now. Live coverage would give the planners opportunity to perform "real-time" evaluations, and exploit deficiencies in the response plans. Not trying to diss you, and thank you for your public service!

I agree that this is far more than an individual suicide event - It may or may not have been well coordinated (apparently not as well as planned), but there's enough evidence to allow that somebody didn't want to die alone, if at all. And there's evidence that there were more than one person involved. Let's see how they shovel this one under the rug.

I appreciate your comments - I reacted a little harshly, perhaps.

Where's Jayna ?? And Steve Emerson, noted terrorist hunter, was interviewed last night I think ..after this event .. and no mention of this bombing was made. He was the one who was in the mosques of OK City, and gave the Feds info he claimed they didn't have .. about the terrorist planning occurring in the mosques of OK City .. I'm stunned that he's not being interviewed about this case.

Do you mean the response by officials was planned and coordinated?
