Looks more like an inter-dimensional doorway to me.

This "vapor cone" thing is obviously some kind of cover-up.

Heck, any ole fighter pilot can bust the sound barrier in the air. This guy did it on the ground!

I really like the B1 bomber, they have flown over the stands before the start of the Indy 500 and every time they bring tears to my eyes....God Bless America

Cleveland actually puts on a fairly good air show, although I am spoiled having grown up in Dayton. Pre 9/11 I was working in an office building downtown when the Thunderbirds were practicing. Two of them flew between my building and another one and actually were below where I was sitting. I was looking down at them and could actually see the pilot's helmet and the heads up display. It was one of the coolest things I ever saw.

Lots of threads have determined that supersonic speed is not a requirement. Just the right relative humidity and pressure.

Through the Navy League, I got to spend a day on the USS CONSTITUTION a few years ago. They took it about 75 miles off the coast of San Diego and did three hours of flight ops. It was incredible and very, very loud. The loudest, however, was at the end of the day as we were nearing land. A jet went straight up with afterburners. It was amazing.

Have you seen the picture of the one making a high speed low pass over the lake?

This one I'll bet. Maybe someone can find a higher quality version of this?
