Ann Coulter just took apart President Bush's SCOTUS nominee on the air during her appearance on the Mike Rosen show here in Denver on 850am KOA. She called for listeners to write their senators to oppose the nomination. Wish you could have heard it!

Ann said - "Totally unqualified", called Judge Roberts "a 'dream' candidate in light of this nomination", mentioned "cronyism" over and over. Much more that I'm trying to digest. I called the station to see if they saved the audio, but no luck on that. Mike Rosen was just about speechless as Ann went on and on about why this was a lousy choice.

I agree with Ann. Huge mistake and missed opportunity.

Ann's choice, Janice Rodgers-Brown. Not enough intestinal fortitude in the White House to go with that choice.

Can't wait for Ann's column on this nomination later this week.

I assume that Reid did not know her conservative Christian background when he suggested her to President Bush. I then think a "light" went on in the President's head that said , WOW!, What an opportunity to nominate someone I know thinks as I do and also do what Reid suggested!

Sure, Reid knew nothing about her. Yeah, right. So what did Reid do, pick her name out of a hat? If Reid knew absolutely nothing about Miers, then for all he knew, he was recommending the most conservative, strict constructionist candidate ever nominated to the SCOTUS. I don't think even Harry Reid is that stupid.

Annie has drawn the line in the sand. She has forced people to pick sides in the conservative body, and people are starting to see Coulter for what she is... a big mouth.

It's always the same thing with her - beating up Republicans because they don't follow her dictation.

There's something about this nominee that bothers me too. You can say it's all good, that all the focus groups give her a big thumbs up, everyone's climbing on board,
but I see 'Spinach' on the can and I say . . . .

I think she's being sarcastic. She's saying that this nomination makes Roberts, whom she opposed, look great. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing, that's just the way I read her statement.

That's exactly what she was saying by calling Roberts a 'dream' candidate compared to Miers.

If you hadn't noticed, after Katrina, the "trend" is for blacks to think of Bush as Bull Connor.

Uh - not when you're pitching in the big leagues. Appeals courts are not even on the public radar. This would be a frontpage bloodbath. They would step much more carefully, in my estimation.

I don't see anything that conclusively says she will or won't, and what little I see is contradictory. At this point, I'm standing by my intermediate prediction that we traded O'Connor for O'Connor.

She was a conservative pro-life Democrat who became a Republican. They often strong right wing Republicans.

I hate to bring up the former Senate Pubbie "leader", but his limp-spined squishy performance is more of the rule than the exception among ex-RATs.

A damn shame Annie has latched on to the Lefty talking point of the day.

I thought the lefty talking point from Reid and Schumer was that this was a good pick. The talking point from National Review, Mark Levin, and Limbaugh is that this is a troubling pick.
