Oh how the Democrats must LOVE this.

This is getting to be absurd. I hope little Harriet gets up there and makes fools out of all of these loud mouthed, over the top "pundits".

I'm done. I'm off the team. I have gone from a George Bush believer who reluctantly criticized you when necessary to an avowed critic who will support your positions when I can, but not your presidency.

Well, sometimes the holders of high offices such as the presidency do things that pass our poor understanding. I understand your complaint, but if you look throughout history you will see these actions over and over again on the part of our elected officials. Never fall in love with a politician, they will break your heart every time.

Support the policies you like, criticize the policies you don't like. And one more thing Michael, why did you not take this opportunity to tell us who you would have liked? So we could tell you what might be wrong with your choice.

Anyone who writes a column and characterizes themselves as "bitch-slapped", by President Bush, no less, has lost any credibility they may have possessed.

Great rant. It scares me that I found myself nodding in agreement all the way through it.

It should scare you. Seek help.

While I am dissapointed in Bush for this pick, the histrionics it has generated is beyond me. I hope for the best at this point, but I am not going to jump off the bridge.

Maybe its because I never "loved" Bush in the first place. If people have been caught up in a cult of personality, then thats their fault.

Maybe its because of my libertarian roots, and the fact that I have never seen one party as the good guy, and the other as the bad guy (although one is certainly "gooder" than the other, thats for sure).

I don't get it I guess, maybe that makes me a worse conservative than those crying over unspilt milk. I am hopefully optimistic, I _TRY_ to be overall, because that is not my nature (as a former Democrat, I can tell you that with certainty). I'll wait for the hearings to make my final call.

The pick was disrespecful to conservatives, the court and the lowly liberal alike. George moved into the placeholder President category with that pick.

By the way I hear the press saying the washington elites are against this pick and the grass roots supports the pres,,well in my close circle of friends its everything from a head scratch to depression, to NON-Support. Not like George cares though right?

Vote Democrat and vote against America. Don't vote and you have failed to cancel a vote against America.

That's the crux of the problem. Not voting fails to cancel a vote for that liberal Kerry, but voting Repub means yet one more vote for that liberal Bush. So which'll it be? "Bad for America," or "Slightly less bad for America"?

This is real stupied.

If Bush nominated a real right winger for the Supreme Court do you think the real left wingers will except? No, the nomination will be knocked down.

The best Bush can do is get a moderate Republican and hope for the best.

I find it really hard to believe that people make the Supreme Court so important. Congress has the power to weaken that branch and nobody actually has to enforce their rulings.

i know, that was sort of my feeling. he is entitled to that reaction, glad he got it off his chest, but so what? will he be like Bill Kristol and try to get on the MSM somewhere where he can allow himself to be used to bat the President around a bit. will that make him feel better? satisfy some primal urge?
