Mohammed Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi went to Norman to check out the Airman Flight School. They decided, though, to train in Florida. A man who was bin Laden's personal pilot, and whose name escapes me, trained at the Airman Flight School in the early 90's. He was later a suspect in the African embassy bombings.
well, there was segment on Coast to Coast AM last night....so 5 million heard it.
Bless you for getting this story out there. Thanks!

It is a good article, and covers a lot of ground in a small space. (I think there's enough info even now for a whole book--once the rest of it comes out, it should be a good book!)
Gosh, I don't know if Rush or anyone will start covering this. Hard to guess. I'm encouraged, though, that Tony Snow seems to be looking into it.
Are these friends of Moussaoui the one's you are remembering?
Thank you for your article! I was an email "pen pal" with Mr. Irvine (may he RIP) on the Baxter Enronicide. That's the only contact I've had with AIM, but it looks good.
Please don't take this as nit-picky, even though it is. Some of the facts you stated as facts, are not yet established as such. I know why you believe them to be, so that's OK. And I'm fairly new here, so my credibility is not worth a lot ... yet.
Having said that, I wanted to point to a few details, just trying for "accuracy."
Para 2 - the George Lynn Cross Building isn't 100 yards away from the bench where Hinrichs perpetrated his bombing. The bench is just a few yards south of that building, and both are 100 yards from Memorial Stadium.
Para 2 - the bus driver who was nearby wasn't taken to the hospital. He was "knocked back" by the concussion of the explosion, but didn't fall down and wasn't hurt.
Para 3 - the crowd was kept from leaving the stadium at half by padlocking 11 of the 12 exit gates, with one left unlocked for emergencies and some who did exit for other reasons. That was around 8:00PM and by 8:30PM, the locks had been removed. However, no half-time passes were given out, which would've allowed re-entry. After the game was over, another 90 minutes or so later, everyone left as usual--only then did the majority of the fans find out what had happened.
Para 3 - something that was thought to contain a 2nd device, which has been reported as Hinrichs' backpack, found near the bench, was detonated later, around 9:30PM at the artillery range far south of campus. It was also a loud explosive event, but the PD "claims" it did not contain any other explosives. (The bomb squad's own controlled detonation is what was heard.)
Para 3 - the area that was "combed" was the South Oval, which was closed off from after the explosion, right before halftime, until much later that night, so that crowds couldn't enter that part of the campus.
Para 8 - the "attaching bombs to the buses" was just one person's theory and we already had a report from an eyewitness who saw Hinrichs sitting on the bench, not over by the buses.
Para 8 - the robot detonation was done as described above, south of campus at the PD shooting range. The robot had been on-scene at the South Oval earlier (post-explosion) and others saw it and the video footage of its activity at the bench scene.
Para 9 - no other explosives were found at the scene, *that we know about* (emphasis) - the other cache of explosives belonging to Hinrichs was found approx. 4-5 blocks away at his apartment and in his car.
Para 10 - the roommate Fazal M. Sheema is an OU student (or was at the time!) and is listed in the OU student directory. You may not have had that info when you wrote this.
Para 10 - No witnesses have come forward who have actually seen Hinrichs at the Islamic Center mosque, even once.
Para 11 - the TATP cache in Hinrichs/Cheema's apartment has been corroborated, but the "bomb-making manuals" and "jihadist literature" in "his apartment" and "on his computer" have not.
Para 13 - this one is important, because it continues to be misrepresented by bloggers. The bearded photo of Hinrichs was taken in 2002, sometime at the end of his senior year of HS or start of his freshman year at OU. It was provided to the CO Springs newspaper by his family in CO Springs. It was not a new beard. He was clean-shaven when he died, as he was when he visited the Ellison's feed store 2 days before.

The warrant used to execute a search of Oklahoma University bomber Joel "Henry" Hinrichs III's apartment, where an undetermined amount of explosives were found, has been sealed by a federal court at the request of the Justice Department.
Hinrichs blew himself up yards from Oklahoma Memorial Stadium Saturday night while tens of thousands of fans watched an OU-Kansas State football game.
WOW! These guys have some good insider info:
7 October 2005; 0400 ET: Found among the items removed from the Park View apartment shared by Joel Henry HINRICHS and Fazal CHEEMA was at least one ticket to the country of Algeria scheduled for a date subsequent to the University bombing. (It is important to note that there are conflicting reports regarding the number of tickets). Also found were a variety of explosive materials and other items that would facilitate this and perhaps other terrorist operations. So was computer equipment and unique items of significant monetary and operational value that will be identified later, thus avoiding potentially compromising an ongoing federal investigation.
