BRUSSELS -- UNICEF's first adult-only episode of "The Smurfs," in which the blue-skinned cartoon characters' village is annihilated by warplanes, has terrified young children. The short but chilling film is to be broadcast on national television this week as a campaign advertisement for a fundraising drive by the U.N. children's agency. The animation was approved by the family of the Smurfs' late creator, "Peyo." Belgian television viewers were given a preview of the 25-second film last week, when it was shown on the evening news. The reactions ranged from approval to shock and, in the case of small children who saw the episode by accident, wailing terror...

Mmmmmm, smurfette. Niiiiice. I also liked the cat, Osreal, I think it was, butnot for the same reasons.
My guess is; it is a threat. Pay up or we wipe out your town/country.
U.N. storm troopers coming to a town near you!
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!Not the SMURFS!!!!!!!.................
Azreal.......
Memories of long-ago Saturday mornings...Smurfette was hot, but she was no Isis. ;^)
How about an episode where suicide bombers blow up innocent smurfs? Or a smurf beheading by islamist extremists? Or one where Islamists take an entire school hostage? Or where young smurf girls are afraid of being raped by the sons of an evil dictator? The the war planes can come to take out these villians.

War Smurf needs a bigger gun, may be a cannon to fire back at the UN.
I don't know if this is the final movie; but this does look like the commercial for it:

It is in another language. Starts off with some people being interviewed with casualties; then goes into threaded stills of the smurfs.
That's cool. I wish they had that as the real cartoon. I would have watched it for sure!
Robot Chicken has a Adult Smurf parody on Comcast.
"For the children".
Hot, but still no Lynda Carter.
Let's see...plutonium...anthrax...ah here it is, weaponized smurfpox.
It's odd because the casualties are African children maimed by genocidal warfare on their basketcase of a continent. It would have been more accurate (and entertaining) to show Pappy leading his clan to wipe out the neighboring village. What do western warplanes have to do with poor, legless kids in the Congo?
LOL!
