Just wait till the "Grandma Freezing Without Heat" stories start in November. The President will be lucky to pull 29%. He'd better start showing something very soon or he will have three long years, two of them with a Democrat congress.
"The poll of 807 adults" ...... Means nothing.
Rasmussenn has Bush at 44% today, not good but certainly better than 39%.
It couldn't be any worse than the CURRENT Democrat administration of Bush and his party-led Congress.
If it hurts the chances of the president's guest worker/amnesty bill getting passed that's a positive. Hopefully this will serve as his wake up call. It's the conservative support that is leaving him. He can stop the bleeding by coming out strongly for border security and against illegal immigration. Yes it would be a flip-flop but it would show that he's putting the security of his citizens above the state sponsored welfare of Vicente Fox's citizens. That's a flip-flop conservatives will support.
These polls, like the good or bad direction of the country, do not state whether those polled think Bush (or the country) would be better off if more liberal or more conservative policies were followed. For that reason alone they are bogus.
I could not agree with you more.
Its actually dipped since the beginning of the year, when Bush decided that he did not have to combat the ongoing lies and false charges made against him and did not have to keep an ongoing PR effort. So therefore, his approval rating is this low, when its all his fault. Not because of his performance, but because of his crappy PR.
I won't vote for Freidman, but I doubt if I will work for the party this year, the first time since Goldwater, as all my guys are simply dim lites.
I quit ht eparty in early 2004, I am now a conservative independent.
But on the other than the platform hasn't seemed to have much effect on pols anyway.
To paraphase Ronaldus Maximus, "I did not leave the GOP, the GOP left me."
I was going to respond but your post said it so well I can only say "uh-huh, that's right". And add that if his so-called approval rating drops to 1% - I will be in that 1%. Just go ahead and call me a BushBot but I happen to believe that in a time of war, I will support the CIC even if I disagree with some of his domestic policies. Our enemy loves these negative polls and encourages them.
Our enemy loves our open borders even more.
I learned today from Rush that what the media is not saying is Bush's drop(not really a bad drop) is still the highest approval number from the last seven presidents..
Rush quote: "Bush has a higher low point approval rating than any of the seven previous presidents."
No, no, no.....whoever is holding the chart has it upside down. If they turn it right side up it shows a 61 percent approval ;-)
