There is only one tree in that location. The bark is pretty rough, and it does have insect holes in it, but no shrapnel marks. Particularly any that look like it was hit with nails, as he apparently said.

Thanks I appreciate your response.

Just for the record here is what Mr. Tapscott first reported in regards to the tree and the holes... He did not say nails...

"Tapscott's Copy Desk has also learned that a tree near where Hinrichs' bomb detonated displays a number of small round holes and some areas of a metallic substance. The holes and substance are only on the side facing the bench on which Hinrichs was seated when the bomb detonated. The holes appear to be about the size of the head of 16 penny nail."

and here is Tapscott's response to the blogger who said there were no holes:
"After reading Acorns' post, closely examining the photos of the tree on his site and talking with my researchers in Norman, I stand by my previous post. There are indeed numerous holes in the tree, just as Tapscott's Copy Desk described them, and they are clearly visible in the top photo on Acorns' site."

Even if we can cross this particular item off the list of holes in the official story (no pun intended) there are still many other, much more significant things to examine, IMHO.

Again, thanks for the link to your pictures. (o:
