Rep. Kirt Weldon is on Michael Savage's radio program, and he is implying Rumsfeld is the one blocking further investigation into Able Danger.
Weldon is fuming; says he personally (in a committee hearing) asked Rumsfeld about the investigation being blocked. Rumsfeld replied that he would 'get back to Weldon with a response.' Weldon says he still has gotten nothing from Rumsfeld.
Weldon to give a speech in a few moments this evening on the floor of the House. It should be aired on CSPAN this evening.
I remember that day. DIA's stupidity, DIA's incompetence.
I'm surprised Valerie Plame & the CIA hasn't sent Joe Wilson over to the DIA to find out how they came to be CYA.
I'm not. We did the "trust me, I know more than you do" thing during Nam. I'm not okay with destroying the career of a veteran Naval officer to keep secrets about failure of courage and competence on the part of the government.

Got it. It will be in the Congressional Record eventually but the site requires some tricky navigation. You almost have to know exactly what you're looking for as even the searching the name Weldon and the date doesn't get you there.
Savage carried quite a bit of it live (don't know how much. I caught the end of the show.)
I didn't completely follow the part about them sending this stuff to Schaeffer. Can someone explain this to me? Also, they included 25 pens? ...was that supposed to be a joke or a threat?
