In a significant move, elite Special Forces of US, India, Russia and United Kingdom are to hold for the first time multi-lateral land and air exercises on the Russian soil early next year.

"Russia hopes to organise and host such an exercise" Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov told newsmen after rounding off his visit to India and his meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee.

Russia supplying SA-10's to both Syria and Iran is a real confidence building measure.

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan being supplied F-16s, and other weaponry, usually at the American taxpayer's expense, in sharp contrast to the Russian concept of selling arms for money, has gotten me confused more than once.

Once Russia would spend millions of dollars to learn how our special forces operate, now they just invite us to train them and the politically correct leftists in charge of our military pay millions for the privilege.

Actually, MLT's (Military Liaison Training mission) and JCET's (Joint Combined Exercise Training) are very inexpensive and a great ways to build rapport with other countries. SF guys conduct these missions all the time.

When SF teams train, or train with other military forces, they only teach the basics which can be found in any off-the-shelf field manual. No "secret squirrel" stuff is done in the foreign country.

By conducting such exercises, SF teams gain valuable insight into the operational methods of the host country's military which is not otherwise available.

We are located in over 100 nations and have sizable bases in 9 of them. We have one of the largest armies under arms and are the only ones trully capable of delivering them (force projection). We spend more on defense then the whole of the world combined. Anyone who can reach us with bomb will himself be exterminated off the face of the earth.

Yes its paranoia and Clark and company have themselves long ago left the military.

My point exactly.

World does not look looney, is really getting predictable. How about Gaza, think it is going to bring peace or thermonuclear war?

War of course. And in it, Iraq will glow in the dark with russian uranium delivered with russian missiles by russian allies in Iran.

Only American part in it will be the target, a lot of good brave spec ops guys due to the pride of our leaders in our power...

Yep, we are conventional warfare kings, with worn equiptment, bankrupt economy and scattered forces. Wonder how we will do with the next esclation in this chess game.

Being that Russians are such poor chess players and all.

There is nothing that can attack America that the present military force there can't handle. The only invasion that might succeed is the Mexican illegals and unfortunetly our government has no desire to stop that gravy train.

As for taking on America militarly, it would be rather hard to hide a fleet that big and who can build one?

As for missiles, again, they might hit us but pay back will exterminate them.

That is foolish. Sub launched cruise missiles fired from off our shores could wipe out our nuclear warhead storage depots and close the inland waterway that our nuke subs must transit to their support port. If Hawaii was hit at the same time, our fleet would be cut off with no supply lines, and no transit to the East Coast as we have given the Panama Canal over to China's control.

The changes Clintoon put in place made us very vulnerable to Russian first strike and that is why the Admirals and Generals resigned in protest.

Moscow has the largest underground shelter system in the world, and with the "breakup" of the soviet empire 90% of the soviet empire is off limits to retaliation, only Moscow and the environs are a legitimate target. Co-inky-dink I am assured by the perfumed princes. Mean while our fleets and troops are working with worn equipment.

I know that in the Ukraine that the subways systems are 7 stories below ground. No need to build them that deep if all you want is a subway. It makes it much harder to access the trains and the cost of building is much more. But, the cash strapped Russian Empire went ahead and built them that way because they intend to get in a nuclear exchange with us. That same cash strapped Empire increased its R&D by a factor of 10 in ICBM's and tactical missiles at the same time the wall went down. We sent them grain "they were so broke" so it helped them stock their bomb shelters.

Grain grows even when your wallet is empty because you are spending money on nuclear subs...

The old saw, that the Russian fleet (which is many times the size of ours now), is rusting and listine at the piers was blown out of the water when during the Black Sea exercise they righted themselves and set to sea. No ship in the world could do that unless internally they are maintained and in shape. They were left listing intentionally. They were listing and rusting because Russia was sandbagging us and a coat of paint was applied as they sailed. Proof positive for anyone who does not have his head in a bucket.

Retaliation is closing the barn door after the horse has been stolen. I hate to tell you this, because I love my country, but the barn is on fire, the firemen are drunk and the fire truck is worn out.

Believe it or not, Russian military training has always taught that the war does not end with Nukes, it is how it starts. They do not care if you retaliate, if it is your dying gasp. And now, that is our dying gasp, as our troops and equipment are not defending the homeland, but a hundred other homelands.

How stupid can we get!

First off, most of the locations where our nuke depots are can not be reached by sub fired missiles. Furthermore, they are hardened locations that require precision strikes which in turn require satellite guidance.

Next, the only nations with this capability are US, Russia, Britian, France and China and the response for any of these would be extermination, to include from our own such subs.

Wow, Tsar Nicholas II had nukes? I never knew that...wonder why he didn't use them on the Germans and Austro-Hungarians?

As for the SOVIET UNION, if that was the case they would never have backed away from 1. Cuba and 2. China when Moa proposed starting just that and finishing off the West.

Yup, why MADD worked so fine for so long. Nothing like being exterminated in kind to keep your sense about you.

Syria and Iran do not have any operational SA-10s. This is simply the media hyping it up. Russia has not supplied any SA-10s to any of these two countries. Yes they would like them but to date none and any of their associated radars are 'turning and burning' in those two nations. If you type S-300 and Iran into google they would have you believe that they are either in a ring around Teheran or deployed around their nuclear facilities. Absolute non-sense!
