I hope there are no Orioles fans here, but Baltimores billionaire owner has said he will not sign any Cuban without Castros permission. I guess liberals still believe in slavery.

Well, for starters, the Catholic Church considers it an obligation of the most fundamental human charity to be hospitable to political refugees, and "a crime which cires out to God for vengence" to import laborers to avoid paying a just wage.

It's true there can be some grey areas: If an oppressive political system imposes destitute poverty on someone, and the person flees to a land of economic opportunity, is he a political refugee, or exploited labor? But equating good and evil because there are ethical dilemmas is a trick usually resorted to by scoundrels, criminals and morally relativistic liberals.

Steinbrenner is loyal to folks like Howe and Strawberry.

The good guys like Petit and El Duque.....are not worth the effort.

Roger Clemens signed a baseball for me in 1987 at Memorial Stadium, so you know for whom I'll be rooting.

"Roger Clemens signed a baseball for me "

How much did he charge you for that? Roger the Rocket is a great pitcher and will be in the Hall of Fame some day. But he didn't get it done for the Red Sox, did he? When he went to the Blue Jays he said he'd never play for the Evil Empire. Well, guess what. It didn't take long for him to jump off that idea, did it? And earlier this year, if King George had offered him enough money, he would have gone back. Somehow he manages to be a bully and a pussy all in one package. Too bad Mike Piazza was more of a pussy :(

Clemens didn't charge me a thing for autograph and even signed something for my then GF. Of course this was nearly 20 years ago, so I doubt he's that forthcomming today.

Dan Duquett ran him out of Boston and as to playing for the Evil Empire, well he wanted a WS ring and they represented his best chance. His retiring - unretiring stunt was underhanded, but since it was at the expense of the Yankees, I can’t seem to shed a tear over it.

Clemens throws at people because MLB gives him little other choice. They’ve lowered the mound, moved in the fences, shrunk the strike zone and batters wear more armor than Sir Galahad. If you want pitchers to throw BP then the game should be renamed to “Home Run Derby

White Sox do not deserve to win the World Series because of:

1. 1919
2. Their questionable ALCS victory this year

Go Astros!
