I don't believe that Guilliani will sell in the conservative South. I certainly do not want a man of such low moral character in the White House. We had that with Bill Clinton and we certainly don't want that ever again. Chatacter does count.

Giuliani will not be the GOP nominee in 2008 -- you can take that to the bank.
Polls taken three years in advance of an election reflect nothing more than public name recognition, which explains why people like Giuliani and McCain consistently rank at the top of any list of GOP contenders.

I agree with you on the moral character aspect. His personal life is a mess. Power is intoxicating to some and they can't turn down the perks - Giuliani is one of them. I will not vote for him either. It's also another reason why he is a MAJOR SOCIAL LIBERAL. Fiscally he's alright but our social mores would again, as you say, take a nose dive.

You may be correct but he has something no one else on the list has genuine charisma. if he hits the stump and lets it all hang out he might suprise you.
At present I have no choice.

FDR and Ike both had their peccadillos ... did that disqualify either in your eyes? BJ Clinton deserves scorn and worse, not because of dubious sexual escapades, but because of the wantonly irresponsible transfer of sensitive technology to the PRC in exchange for campaign contributions. IMHO, BJ Clinton should be regarded as the Benedict Arnold of the Twentieth Century.
