AUSTIN, Texas -- The Ku Klux Klan plans to rally in Austin to support the gay marriage amendment set for the Nov. 8 ballot.
The rally planned on the steps of city hall the Saturday before the election will urge voters to favor proposition 2.
However, some who support proposition 2 don't welcome the KKK's assistance.
One such person is Pastor Ryan Rush of Bannockburn Baptist Church.
Rush said that a group that would come in that is characterized as hateful and bigoted is not welcome in this city. He said he doesn't want the Klan as a partner on any cause.
In a letter the Klan sent to the city, the group acknowledged that security will be an issue, noting the violence that erupted at a KKK rally and march to the capitol in Austin in 1983.
And why the heck are these idiots demonstrating at City Hall? This is a State Constitution ballot.
Ummm ... speechless ... I would guess they feel momentum from Toledo?
All they need now is Rev. Phelp's nutjobs' "help".

I completely understand. But even a broken clock is right twice a day. Occasionally, a group as perverted as the Klan may get something right.

The Lambda Legal Fund is pulling out all the stops on this one - and I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn this "Klan" rally was financed by them as well.

Perhaps that is the logic - it's hard to imagine the Klan doesn't include gays in the list of people they hate. Pretend to be on their side, freak people out, they go the other way.

What is really funny is that the way they write these headlines is to imply EVERYbody wants to have homosexual marriage.
"support the 'gay' marriage amendment" implies the amendment allows homosexual marriage.
Perhaps the klan has a pink sheet branch they don't talk about.
"We don't need the Klan. We don't want the Klan."
