GAY PUBLICATION 'OUTS' ANCHORS
Show Biz Data ^

Posted on 10/26/2005 10:23:55 AM PDT by LesbianThespianGymnasticMidget

The gay-oriented Houston Voice has "outed" CNN's Anderson Cooper and Fox News Channel's Shepard Smith, charging that they "choose to hide and deceive -- and to protect their incomes and images -- at the expense of contributing important weight and star power to the gay civil rights movement." Managing Editor Kevin Naff claims in an editorial appearing in the current edition of the Voice that Smith once tried to pick him up in a gay piano bar in New York City and that Cooper dodged a question about his sexual orientation in a recent New York magazine interview by saying, ""The whole thing about being a reporter is that you're supposed to be an observer and to be able to adapt with any group you're in ... and I don't want to do anything that threatens that." Commented Naff: "Does he believe that female and African-American reporters lack credibility to cover stories since their minority status is showing?"

I need to admit something to every one here on FR before it comes out publicly.

I'm straight.

Exactly right. Who cares a fig? I don't watch CNN, so I don't know Cooper, but I like Shep, and have never considered his sexuality at all. I still like him, and even if it's all true, I will continue to like him. Unless he starts spouting left-wing talking points.

The thing about all leftists that bothers me is that they will both qualified and justified in telling other people what to do to "make the world a better place". Yet they seem to make no effort to make their own little neighborhood a better place by actually doing something. Even leaving it would be a start.

Furthermore gay conservatives have a much easier time coming out as gay to conservatives, than they do coming out as conservatives to gays. And yet they call us intolerant.

***

You are so right. My friends who are gay conservatives have told me so. To give an example: One of them is employed by a local university which at the time this happened was considering offering health benefits to gay partners as they would to spouses of straight couples. This friend made a comment to some of his friends that he opposed such a move as it would cost the school money, increase tuition for the students, etc. etc. Boy did he ever get a drubbing for that remark. Seems you have to be in lockstep with the gay agenda, or else.

I guess I'm not making my point. And maybe it's a dumb point. LOL

I'll say it once more and then I'm leaving the thread.

Among the heterosexuals I know, we do not discuss the sex lives of our friends.

Among the homosexuals I know, and I know quite a few, they constantly discuss the sex lives of their friends and acquaintances and wonder if so and so is gay. Constantly.

Whether or not they contribute anything to the gay civil rights movement, or any other cause, should be their decision.

I knew I wanted to post a comment to this thread, but you already have said exactly what I wanted to say. Exactly.

I agree completely. If they aren't insisting that others celebrate their sexuality or whatever, it's nobody's business. I don't care for Shep Smith anyway; I think another Freeper used the word "snarky" and it's a good fit. But I don't see any point to this story except that it further exposes the hypocrisy of those who claim to be crusaders for "tolerance." That's the interesting part of it, in my opinion.

I dont give a damn one way or the other as long as neither hits on me. To each their own. I do think Anderson is a good anchor though.

With names like Anderson and Shep, I'd say they were doomed at birth! Give a kid a gay name and what do you expect? ;)

Sheps parking incident was 5 years ago in a week.

That was back when they were staking out the Florida State Supreme Court during the Gore election contest in 2000. Maybe Smith can recreate the incident next week by staking out Fitzgerald's office.

During the 2000 election recount fiasco in Florida Fox sent Shep to report and do live coverage. He was in a parking lot trying to find a spot at the courthouse and there was one spot left. Some lady from another news channel was standing in the spot saving it for a co-worker. Shep asked her to move. She refused. Shep moved her with his bumper.

Gay civil rights movement? What in blazes is he talking about.

They own the bloody MSM; book deals; talk show appearances, etc, etc. Polls indicate that homosexuals have many, many of the fine white-collar jobs in America.

You get AIDS and there's no shame involved, it's a tragedy and whomever has it is a hero; but a great deal of the illness must be transmitted by very reckless sexual behavior by homosexuals.

Phew. Feel better now.
