Vandals force baby's exhumation

A couple have been given permission to exhume the body of their stillborn baby after a four-year campaign of vandalism against his grave

Yobs targeting Cameron Adams's burial place at Newark cemetery, near Nottingham, have destroyed tributes, ruined flowers and stolen soft toys.

One even left a letter for his parents, David and Karen, claiming that because their son was stillborn he should be buried in an unmarked grave.

Mr and Mrs Adams, from Newark, were so distressed that they applied for a licence to remove Cameron from his grave. Mrs Adams, 40, said she would cremate Cameron's body "because then we don't have to worry about anything like this ever happening again".

Mrs Adams, who has had two children since Cameron was stillborn in 2001, added: "These people are sick and it's got to the point where it's beyond any sort of understanding. It's devastating when you lose a child. It's like a wound that never heals."

She said the family could not immediately afford the £1,300 for the exhumation and cremation. The Department of Constitutional Affairs, which deals with exhumation, said moving a body because of vandalism was "uncommon".

Perhaps a result of decades where the humanity of the unborn has been denied?

Oh those "cultured" Brits.

They have allowed thuggery to take the place of a civil society.

Oh those "cultured" Brits.

Amen to that. Why, only a few months ago one of them took photos of himself urinating on Reagan's grave and ... no sorry, that was in America. Why not save your criticism for the people who did this grisly deed?

Are you suggesting that members of the "pro-choice" crowd would be against the Adams' choice to name Cameron and have him decently buried? How dare you say such a thing?

This is sick. Unbelievable. As the father I would have smashed those vandals into pieces so that they have reason to claim their grave. I can't understand that the police is doing nothing about it. If this scum left notes it would have been easy to identify them.

A Yob is a punk. A Yob is a hoodlum. A Yob is a petty criminal mindless moron. A Yob is the kid down the block who knocks over your mailbox for kicks.

If a letter was written, questioning their right to name and bury their child, then this wasn't a kid.

Yeah, I question the use of the term Yob for this particular case. This is the work of a fully formed adult idiot.

I agree Cindy. This sounds like someone with deep seated issues. Maybe a woman who also had lost a child at birth, didn't name or memorialize the baby and now deeply resents the attention given to another's child.

I suspect the parents have done something to offend someone.

I cant see anyone picking on the grave of one particular child who was stillborn. There has to be another reason.

A Yob is a punk. A Yob is a hoodlum. A Yob is a petty criminal mindless moron

So, in other words, a yob is a Democrat voter
