Snort. Oil For Food was a scam from its inception. And there was nothing shoddy about how that scam was managed.
It's just amazing that yahoo doesn't have a headline on this. Nor does CNN... But again, the possibility of Rove being indicted is the most important story for them...
What I'd like to see is a breakdown by which companies profited most. And go after those first. I'd also like to see the company breakdown by nationality.
There, it's fixed.
Thanks for posting this.
It appears, a lot of us, including me, owe Mr Volcker an apology.
Was Schlumberger Limited (NYSE: SLB) one of the companies involved?
So many people and businesses involved - and so much money - and nobody said a WORD? The breadth of this corruption is staggering...
"The 623-page document exposed the global scope of a scam that allegedly involved such name-brand companies as DaimlerChrysler "
Did saddamn drive a chrysler?
Last week, Benjamin celebrated the one-year anniversary of the day when he led the first sanctions-busting flight into Iraq. On April 5, 2000, Benjamin, a pilot and a member of the Italian Parliament, passed undetected through the no-fly zone in a small jet to protest the sanctions.
Since then, he has continued to travel regularly to Iraq, in bigger planes, bringing humanitarian aid and businessmen along for the ride.
Businessmen...hmmmmm....
Father Benjamin first came to my attention a few days after the attack on the World Trade Centre, when the Vaticans Online News Agency, Zenit, posted a strange little article claiming that Father Benjamin had been officiating at a high-powered wedding attended by European judges and politicians just a few days before September 11, and that he had told the guests that hed been tipped off that a major US target would be attacked in the next few days using hijacked planes.
The companies came from Thailand, Malaysia, Russia, Belarus, Syria, Canada and many other places.
