I just received an email at work that says
The New York City World Can't Wait Committee (an anti-President Bush group) will stage a protest march on November 2, 2005 starting from Union Square at 2:30 pm. They should arrive in Times Square via Broadway between West 40th St and West 42nd St at approximately 3:30 pm. They are to remain there until about 5:30 pm.
Event organizers say they expect up to 5,000 people but also have said that number could be well overestimated.
I would have sent an email back asking the person who send it if they are alowed to use the comapny email for non work issues.
For reference sake, it was a security advisory warning email that contained this information. We always receive notice whenever something is going on in Times Square.
Same stuff...over and over and over....It is a kick to make fun of them tho...
If I was an employer, I'd be inclined to fire somebody who walked off the job as a "politcal statement."
No, they will count everybody that walks by on their way to WORK.
And this would be different from any other day because...?
Urine filled super-squirter alert!!
i emailed a friend of mine who works a few blocks away. I asked him if he had his "Go home commie" placards with him.
I don't have a super soaker but I *do* work four blocks from the biggest Toys R Us in the world....what a funny idea!
LOL! Your typical demonstrator. LOL!
BATTLE TO DRIVE OUT THE BUSH REGIME INTENSIFIES,
180 ACTIONS SET FOR NOVEMBER 2nd
October 31, 2005
For Immediate Release
Contact: Connie Julian, 917-449-9064On November 2, in 67 cities, 43 colleges and universities, and 90 high schools (at last count), there will be walk-outs and demonstrations-- mass public outpourings launching a new movement with a single, practical objective: to drive out the Bush regime.
The Miers withdrawal, Libby's indictment, US torture policy, the ongoing bloodbath in Iraq, Bush's nomination of extreme-right wing Judge Samuel A. Alito Jr. ("Scalito") to the Supreme Court - these rapidly cascading developments make clear that this regime is determined to "radically remake society very quickly, in a fascist way, and for generations to come," as the World Can't Wait Call says.
"There's NEVER been a regime like this in the U.S, and World Can't Wait is also unprecedented: a movement aimed at driving out a sitting president and his whole program through a massive popular movement," Sunsara Taylor, an initiator of World Can't Wait, said Monday.
Battles are brewing in New York City, Los Angeles and other cities over high school walk-outs that day. Then on Monday, Hot 97, the NYC urban radio station, backed out of an agreement to run a paid ad for November 2, created by Boots Riley of The Coup. To hear the ad:

The Call to Drive Out the Bush Regime has been signed by world-renowned artists and public figures including Harold Pinter, Jane Fonda, Kurt Vonnegut, Alice
Walker, Eve Ensler, Gore Vidal, Richard Serra, Cindy Sheehan, Howard Zinn, Michael Eric Dyson, Russell Banks and Cornel West. The list continues to grow.
"The Bush Administration is the most dangerous force that has ever existed. It is more dangerous than Nazi Germany because of the range and depth of its activities and intentions worldwide. I give my full support to the Call to "Drive out the Bush Regime.""
--Harold Pinter, Nobel Laureate playwright
At the rallies around the country, an important announcement from organizers will be made about next steps in the movement to Drive Out the Bush Regime.

Event organizers say they expect up to 5,000 people...Ya think?...but also have said that number could be well overestimated.
I can't wait to see how many people actually show up. My guess is their combined number of teeth will not equal 5000, nor will their lifetime number of showers or shaves, times they washed their clothes etc....
This is absolute lunacy...I sometimes find myself wondering how people can be so easily misled (like a bunch of ignorant sheep) by the MSM and the radical left...then I wake up. These people do not really deserve to live in this country. My stomach churns violently when I read about pathetic morons like these people...
This is the funniest $H*T I have seen in awhile!!!! LMMFAO!!! May I have your permission to quote you on this, sir?
Some of the brainiancs from today expressing their 'like total bumming on Bush':

I don't think Bush knows what he's doing at all. I think he's completely made a huge mess and I'm completely against him. So whatever I can do to express that to people and spread the word so that people understand that, said one participant.
I came out here because I feel there are much more important issues going on that passing science. I think that what Bush is doing is completely, completely wrong. I think that the situation in Iraq is just totally messed up. I mean there are children and babies being bombed, added another.
Glad I could bring a smile to your face. Feel free to quote. :)
They also "anticipated" 5,000 here in L.A. We'll see; it's a couple of hours away.
It could be the "World Can't Wait" idea is just to tie up traffic, disrupt normal life ... much like those guys we call terrorists.
