Thank you both for your kind words and good wishes for my MIL. It's hard watching your parents (and grandparents) grow old, but is such a blessing to be able to care for them properly and to know they are safe and as comfortable as possible. :-)
I told that to myself when I came her to help my mom.. but that was 14 years ago (and it does get INTENSE)
It is a blessing. Prayers for all of you.
Even with a caregiver living with her in her own home, that person cannot be glued to her side 24/7, and there always is considerable risk. It's nice for you to relax and know she has a social stimulus and activities, if she wants to participate in them.
In addition, her nutritional neeeds will be met, lessening your concerns, and they can spot and tell you about possibly significant changes in her.
