>>I seriously doubt that 52% of the public outside of the Beltway knows who Libby is.

A friend on another forum, was slapping some sense into some Libs who were hyperventilating over this story, a couple months ago:

"I've only had a few problems discussing this with people who are not political junkies:

1) Explaining who Karl Rove is.
2) Explaining who Joe Wilson is.
3) Explaining who Valerie Plaime is.
4) Explaining who Robert Novak is.
5) Explaining who Judith Miller is.
6) Explaining why, even assuming any of the allegations are true, anyone without a political agenda should give a rat's rump about it.

Other than that, this story has great legs. Especially if one compares it to the much less interesting Jeff Gannon "scandal"."

Now, you'd have to add 7) Explaining who Scooter Libby is.

"Friends say he has decided that he will never catch a break from the Democrats or the media..."

Wow. Now there's a rocket-scientist level observation... I think that these "friends" are either quoted wrong, or are misrepresenting Bush. There is no way that he is just now deciding that liberals won't give him a break.

President Bush, meanwhile, is thinking in bigger terms. Friends say he has decided that he will never catch a break from the Democrats or the media--on the CIA case or anything else--so he will govern from the right,

"I tried to be a nice guy and that didn't work, so now I'm going to beat the crap out of you guys over and over and over again." YEAH!!!!!

"Hardline" = won't leak like sieves and suck up to liberal reporters.

Get ready for another round of "stubborn Bush" stories. These MSM guys just don't get it - they've never seen a President and Vice President who are not running for reelection or trying to spend their entire term polishing their "legacy" with foolishness like sucking up to Yasser Arafat. They don't give a rip what today's opinion polls say. They have a war on terror to win.

It's going to be so much fun watchng Bush and Cheney continue to thumb their nose at these people for the next 39 months!
