The standards for journalism have fallen, or is it just more noticable these days?
From what I can detect they did get a few things correct.
The President is G.W.B. The Vice President is Cheney. Alito was nominated to the Supreme Court. And there was a man named Libby in the administration.
Seems the rest falls back on rumor, the testimony of "a former adviser to a Republican president" (Pat Buchanon?, that you?), and rigged polling.
It's too bad, though, because I actually like the sounds of dropping the wish to unite the country and just stick to making the 51% happy.

Vice President Dick Cheney=one of the best reasons to vote for President Bush.

"He [President Bush] seems content to remain a 51-percent president, unlike other presidents who wanted to increase their job approval far beyond that," says a friend. "In fact, as long as he gets one more vote than the other side, he seems happy." And that is because he is not an arrogant, narcissistic, sociopath like his predecessor.

"... Cheney is feeding Bush's instinct never to give ground when under attack ..."HUH? What dimension did I wake up in this morning? Never give ground? Explain all the pork spending, the pandering to Mooslems, offering to rebuild NOLA and attacking Bill Bennett.(scoff)

Friends say he has decided that he will never catch a break from the Democrats or the mediaa little late to reach that conclusion... IMHO.
To: upchuck
And what they fail to say (since omission is what they do best) is that ALL presidents in their second term have low ratings...in fact, it's historically low for HIM, BUT is not as low as polls for Clinton and the first BUsh, among others.
What a piece of crap!

"Friends say (Bush) has decided that he will never catch a break from the Democrats or the media--on the CIA case or anything else--so he will govern from the right,..."
Bless his heart, it's about time he realized that.

Far from being chastened by recent setbacks, including the indictment of his chief of staff, Vice President Dick Cheney is thumbing his nose at his critics--and encouraging President Bush to do the same. "Bush and Cheney are standing as one," says a prominent Republican who regularly advises the White House. "Their strategy is to get the conservative base solidified again, and Cheney is key because he is the administration's main link to the right." I like it, I love it, I want some more of it.

"being able to participate in such a poll, a person should have to be able to answer what Libby is charged with."
absolutely!!! many would flunk that test.
To: wjersey
The CIA case has Bush aides deeply worried because it has the potential to do far more damage to the White House. The president's top aide, Karl Rove, remains under investigation, and his fate is uncertain.Horsecrap. Just fight back--the security of the nation weighs in the balance, and Joe Wilson is a punk. Keep the bad guys--sadly, in this case our own countrymen--off balance. Hit 'em with a right hook and then a left jab. Never give them a chance to get up...believe me, Mr. President, when you're down they never relent.

President Bush, meanwhile, is thinking in bigger terms. Friends say he has decided that he will never catch a break from the Democrats or the media--on the CIA case or anything else--so he will govern from the right, as he did on most issues in his first term. Welcome to the real world, Mr. President.

[President Bush, meanwhile, is thinking in bigger terms. Friends say he has decided that he will never catch a break from the Democrats or the media--]
What took him so long to realize this fact?
[--on the CIA case or anything else--so he will govern from the right, as he did on most issues in his first term.]
This is what he was elected for in the first place! His effort to govern from the moderate position caused his slide downhill and has resulted in his so many of his and our troubles. Perhaps Rove's undoing will help President Bush to do his job and govern from the right.

Why does the MSM think Bush should listen to them and not Cheney?
Or even better yet why should he listen to the members of the Rats in Congress like Sen. Barbara Mikulski

Cheney and Bush are REAL men, the kind who still have instincts.
Wish somebody would post that pic again of Cheney casting for trout. It got all us Freeper women all worked up.
As we say done here in Tennessee "He's purty."

"Hannah, newly promoted to Cheney's national security adviser, had been Libby's deputy and was instrumental in making exaggerated or questionable prewar arguments that Saddam Hussein's regime had specific links to terrorism. Addington, a longtime Cheney confidant who is now his chief of staff, has advocated limiting the rights of suspected terrorists, argued that torture of suspects might be justified in some cases, and pressed for expanding presidential power." Sounds like good choices to me, given that there is an all out war on the part of Democrats and the propagandists in the MSM against the White House.
