White House urged to 'come clean' in CIA leak case Maryland Democrat tells Bush to honor pledge to fire officials
Saturday, November 5, 2005; Posted: 3:32 p.m. EST (20:32 GMT)
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush should "come clean" about any White House officials involved in the leak of the name of undercover CIA operative Valerie Plame and "honor his pledge to fire all those involved," Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland said Saturday in the Democrats' weekly radio address.
"It's been one week since the vice president's chief of staff was indicted, and there are still very serious questions about how his White House misused and manufactured intelligence to sell and defend the war in Iraq," Mikulski said.
Democrats last week forced the Republican-controlled Senate into an unusual closed session, questioning information that Bush used in the run-up to the war in Iraq and accusing Republicans of ignoring the issue. (Full story)
Republicans later agreed to a bipartisan review of the Senate Intelligence Committee's investigation into prewar intelligence.

Its about time we investigated Joe Wilson and "Valerie Plame
Bond"..LOL..
I agree that anyone who exposes an undercover CIA operative should be punished. That would exclude anyone who talked about Valerie Plame, because she wasn't undercover and she was a CIA analyst at the time.
Where was the call for Reno to be fired. She burned alive 80 men, women and children.

Ummmmmmmmm...seems to me, that Dems from Maryland should keep their lops zipped, since they have quite the SCANDAL of their own right now.
Hmmmm?? Is this why we saw Hillary being so chummy with Barbara the last few days .. perhaps giving Barbara a few tips on what to say ..??
As usual .. the dems are overplaying their hand. Just like they did with the "it's Bush's fault" - this will sink them also.
Bush said he fire anyone who COMMITTED a crime...not merely anyone ACCUSED...
twist spin and prod.......I;m getting so sick of the frickin dems...
Very nicely written with common sense thinking and facts.
Unfortunately, that is what the LEFT dreads and the MSM/LSM can't stand.
But it WOULD include John F. Kerry, who actually DID out a covert CIA agent.

The left is becoming a 'lil bit boring with this "come clean BS." |

Vallely said, citing CIA colleagues, that in addition to his conversations with Wilson, the ambassador was proud to introduce Plame at cocktail parties and other social events around Washington as his CIA wife.
"That was pretty common knowledge," he said Friday. "She's been out there on the Washington scene many years."
I think Libby's trial will be a good time to get this sick scumbag Wilson under oath.
Sad reminder of the so called prosperous 90s....Reno should be serving the life sentence without parole. And, the Clinton should have been impeached by the Senate, if not for the Monica episode, for letting Terrorism grow like wildfire.
and then Bush became President and they had to do something to 'stop a war' based on their fraud but they can't admit what they did. Thats how this probably happened.
Demands W.H. bail us out of our sorry big-time fork-up!!!

If Plame were a covert agent at the time, Vallely said, "he would not have paraded her around as he did."
"This whole thing has become the biggest non-story I know," he concluded, "and all created by Joe Wilson." WorldNetDaily- Joe Wilson fumes over Vallely charges in WND

But he was allowed, because a CIA agent gave him a hat in Cambodia on his way to kill a rogue Green Beret that had built a secret army of indigenous people.
That CIA agent later became the President of the United States (on TV).
I saw it in the theater, so I know it must be true.
If anyone thinks that the Libby trial won't be the "fight back", then they don't know the Bush/Rove strategery.
Why would Libby reject a plea bargain? Why would he plead not guilty at the trial and actually stand trial?
Hmmmmmm.....I see the Bush/Robe train running over the Wilson/Plame/DEM team.
Only the HOUSE can impeach; the Senate either acquits or convicts. The Senate refused to gave a for real trial and they also refused to convict and throw the Clintons out of the White House.
ROTFLMSO
Exactly. The White House may be indeed waiting for such an opportunity. The DUmmies are thinking they will call Cheney to trial and strip the Administrartion, but it may be the Wilson/Plame/DEM team that stands naked in court.
Time will tell, and truth has a way of catching up.
Thanks. Unfortunately, for all the talk about the dying mainstream media, they are still pretty strong. My little article will hit them like a pea-shooter. But if a million others hit them with pea-shooters too, maybe we can bring them down!
LOL! Combodia. You mean 50 miles off the border. Oh, the shooting and the bravery. Don't forget the hat!
Mr. Nopardons,
You correct me again. Yes, that is what I meant. But, it did not pass your scrutiny for accuracy. :-)
The Senate is still filled with wimpy RINOs.
Fighting back does not have to be on the media waves.
Although, folks like me don't mind red meat fight, the Administration may be waiting for the right moment to strike.
John Kerry blew the cover of CIA secret operative Fulton Armstrong during confirmation hearings for U.N. ambassador nominee John Bolton. Kerry should be in jail right now...
The trial should be interesting.
We can only go by what you write. What you posted was incorrect. Ergo, it matter not one whit what you "meant" to post; what matters, is what you DID post.
I know that you weren't born here and that all of this is a bit more difficult for you, but we just can't let errors sit out there, uncorrected on threads, now can we? Lots of people read FR and we all must try to keep FR looking the best it can.
Yes, there are still some RINOS in the Senate. Unfortunately, we need them, to maintain the majority. No Conservative will EVER get elected from most of the states the worst RINOS come from and it is far better to retain the majority we have, than to lose it and have the likes of Harry Reid and Hillary Clinton etc. as the CHAIRMEN of ALL of the committees.
I get this image of a 'blue dress' being sent to the cleaners
Except the idea he made such a pledge is FALSE, FAKED, FRAUDULENT, Ms. Mikulski. You're either a LIAR or a SHILL.
Let me bury you with facts, Ms. Mikulski:
Let's look at the timeline and actual quotes and context of what Bush said or what others said on his behalf:
Scott McClellan - 29 Sept 2003: "The President has set high standards, the highest of standards for people in his administration. He's made it very clear to people in his administration that he expects them to adhere to the highest standards of conduct. If anyone in this administration was involved in it, they would no longer be in this administration."
SUMMARY: Press Secretary says if anyone is involved, they'd be tossed.
Bush - 30 Sept 2003: " And if there is a leak out of my administration, I want to know who it is. And if the person has violated law, the person will be taken care of. ... I don't know of anybody in my administration who leaked classified information. If somebody did leak classified information, I'd like to know it, and we'll take the appropriate action."
SUMMARY: BUSH himself says, "And if this person violated the law..."
Scott McClellan - 7 Oct 2003: "Let me answer what the President has said. I speak for the President and I'll talk to you about what he wants." and "If someone leaked classified information, the President wants to know. If someone in this administration leaked classified information, they will no longer be a part of this administration, because that's not the way this White House operates, that's not the way this President expects people in his administration to conduct their business."
SUMMARY: Press Secretary: Returns to his original line and ignores what Bush actually said which included the distiction about the law being broken. GAFFE again by S. McClellan.
Bush - 10 June 2004: He get a question from a reporter. Here is the exchange:
QUESTION: Given -- given recent developments in the CIA leak case, particularly Vice President Cheney's discussions with the investigators, do you still stand by what you said several months ago, a suggestion that it might be difficult to identify anybody who leaked the agent's name?
THE PRESIDENT: That's up to --
QUESTION: And, and, do you stand by your pledge to fire anyone found to have done so?
THE PRESIDENT: Yes. And that's up to the U.S. Attorney to find the facts.
QUESTION: My final point would be -- or question would be, has Vice President Cheney assured you --
THE PRESIDENT: It's up to the --
QUESTION: -- subsequent to his conversations with them, that nobody --
THE PRESIDENT: I haven't talked to the Vice President about this matter, and I suggest -- recently -- and I suggest you talk to the U.S. Attorney about that.
SUMMARY: Bush reiterated what he's been saying since 30 Sept 2003 but with the interruptions he makes a technical error bu answering the press question in the affirmative. Notice the press guy is actually mischaracterizing what it clearly the record of Bush's position going back to 2003: If you are a criminal, you're gone. Press ignores colleague played sound bite "gotcha" and run with it.
Bush - July 18, 2005: "If someone committed crime, they will no longer work in my administration."
SUMMARY: Bush yet again repeats what he said in 2003 and 2004.
SUMMARY: Bush reiterated what he's been saying since 30 Sept 2003 to the effect of 'If a crime is committed, you're gone.' BUT it's at this point the press decides to ignore the facts and timeline and say Bush has suddenly "raised the bar" because Rove and Libby might be involved.
CONCLUSION: Bush has been consistent since 2003 on this matter. The press has engaged in false reporting. The press is deliberately manipulating the news to harm this President and this administration. Barbara Mikulski, like Harry Reid a few weeks ago, and still others of the Democrat cabal of corruption has repeated the "common knowledge" created by the press lies to further his agenda. Press Secretary Scott McClellan should be FIRED for professional incompetence.
Now shut-up with your LIES, Ms. Mikulski and get to work on the American People's business!
And to answer your query...she is a LIAR and a SHILL!
You said it, not me. ;)
Mikulski suffers from severe moonbatitis.
Either that or she's jonesin' bad for hitlery.
Sure, we all prefer Senate Majority over lack of RINOs.
Toomey was a strong candidate. Not so sure we would have lost the majority with him as a candidate instead of Specter.
McCain is a special case. His brain degenerated since he lost to Bush in the primaries, and is hell bent on creating a name for himself in the NYT editorials.
Snowe and Collins from Maine, I agree.
Chafee is counterproductive. Better have him on the Dem side.
Hagel is puzzling on the WOT/Iraq issues. Otherwise, a strong conservative.
Gordon Smith comes from a liberal state, but strong on most major issues. Calling him Rino would be completely unfair.
Graham is simply press crazy. But, I have not seen him VOTE wrong on major issues.
I didn't mane any names, but I really didn't have to; now did I? LOL
FYI...Graham is a McCain supporter.
And I'd gladly say it again. hehehehehehehehe
