Chances Are wrote: I didn't see this (watching the football game!), but the only real germane question appears to be, How does this stack up against "Attack of the Cherry Tomatoes" and "Plan 9 From Outer Space"? Chances Are, those movies you mentioned are probably too good for my Fiercely Bad Movies of All Time List.
This one has the depth of a bubble gum wrapper, a bad comic book, a Victoria Principal or Vanessa Williams infomercial. Maybe Bob, Petronski or WestVirginia Rebel can compare this movie to your movies, Chances Are.

LOL. This sounds awful. What'd the guy do, roll down a window?
Reminds me of the meteor movie wherein the meteors were targeting the major cities. Or, the tornado movie where the people had two hours to prepare for the tornado heading right for them.
Hollywood. Is there anything they don't know?

>"How did the news cameraman get two different shots of the Statue of Liberty at the same time when it was being hit by the storm surge?"It was the same camera crew with the high speed footage of the martians that miraculously survived right outside of Tom Cruises apartment.
We didn't listen!
The end came two days before the day after tomorrow. That's today!!!

Nixa, MO, just south of Springfield...A new guy botched a database server installation last week down there at a worksite, and I have to go smooth things over with the customer. 9 hour drive on one night's notice, gotta love it. That's probably not quite Ozarks, but very close.

My sympathies SoDak. May the force be with you, otherwise M$ is $200 just to call, and of course their first question...."Did you reboot?"

Hey wait a minute...if it is the end of the world, how come I have to wait till next week?

The movie's theme that the energy output of our civilization could cause super-storms to ravage the face of planet is sheer bunk. Never mind that shutting every thing that keeps us alive down would starve us all to death. In this case, its a matter of picking your poison. We're never going to have Category 7 storms. I can't even imagine the power one would pack - or the punch it would deliver. Be glad its science fiction.

No, Nixa is quite in the Ozarks! Sorry the foliage isn't up to par this year, it's been too dry too long. Oh and watch the traffic, it's really crazy at times!

The only traffic I worry about it KC. I will take backroads around KC. I like Springfield, and would like to get a couple of hours in the Bass Pro Shop while down there, but for the most part, I want to get in, get done, and get on the road back.

As if Kyoto could affect the weather. The premise is so illogical a moment's thought would make people realize our effect on Nature is marginal at best. But its also an illustration that liberalism is essentially a cargo cult at heart. Reality can't shake these people's minds to the effect the fate of the planet is ruined by human beings. For a more balanced perspective, I recommend Michael Cricthon's recent novel,
State Of Fear that just came out in paperback.

No one would survive force winds of that magnitude - Paris would have been obliterated and our chief meterologist wouldn't have been alive to report it. Chaos theory tells us that patterns are from obvious and there are no tidy solutions. The movie's premise of a neo-Luddite approach to the environment is a fashionable conceit on the Green Left fringe today but it has no bearing on life in the real world. Yes, its a liberal rip-off of the
Day After Tomorrow and even hokier. About the only saving grace is it left the explicit Bush-bashing on the cutting room floor, at least for Part I.

That's Shaheen Doherty. I don't know why she signed up for this - its scarcely believable even as a "B" movie. I suppose if you think we really do control the weather we could avoid such a horrible fate. Its fascinating the liberals hate the very technology that actually minimizes man's impact on the environment.

Part II is next Sunday. Does the world end or does it get saved by exiling the eevil Republicans to the Twilight Zone dimension?? ;-)

It's a rip-off of The Day After Tomorrow. The Day After Tomorrow was a much better movie... but then Plan Nine From Outer Space was a much better movie than The Day After Tomorrow...
