Hitler was elected at first.
And the masses *WILL* vote themselves bread and circuses until all the money (including all that can possibly be borrowed) is gone.
That is why this is, or should be, a Republic

a Fascist Democracy, in which a people's freedom is not taken away from them by dictatorial force, but is voluntarily surrendered. After freedom is surrendered, there is not democracy. There is no such thing as Fascist Democracy.

She's definitely running that's for sure.
Having come out publicly to embrace religion, calling for secure borders, supporting the war, hell if for some unknown reason I decided to believe her, I'd vote for her.

Definitions of Fascism on the Web:
* "A philosophy or system of government that is marked by stringent social and economic control, a strong, centralized government usually headed by a dictator, and often a policy of belligerent nationalism." (From The American Heritage Dictionary)
* The name comes from the Latin fasces a bundle of rods with a projecting axe, which was the symbol of authority in ancient Rome. The term was applied by Mussolini to his movement after his rise to power in 1922. The Fascists were viciously anti-Communist and anti- liberal and, once in power, relied on an authoritarian state apparatus. They also used emotive slogans and old prejudices (for example, against the Jews) to bolster the leader's strongman appeal. ...
* A social and political ideology with the primary guiding principle that the state or nation is the highest priority, rather than personal or individual freedoms.

Ideologically, Hillary Clinton is a paradox in all the worst ways. She is both to the left of Elena Ceaucescu and to the right of Imelda Marcos. It's important that her reelection margin be held below 60% next year.

Mia, love your posts but I have to disagree with you about one thing.
The best chance of beating Hillary is not Condi. There is a sizable percentage of the electorate that will not vote for a woman over a man. Some acknowledge their bias...some vote that way never realizing why.
But Hillary cannot win in an election against a male candidate because even if this biased contingent represents 5 percent of the population, that is enough to turn the election.
By running against Condi, she eliminates the gender issue, and increases the amount of votes she could receive.
There will be a big media push for the R Party to run Condi, just like there was for McCain, mark my words.
