November 9, 2005 -- WASHINGTON The White House yesterday began mandatory, hourlong briefings for an estimated 3,000 staffers on ethics and the handling of classified information in response to the indictment of a top official in the CIA leak investigation.
Among those attending the first ethics briefing were some assistants to the president with top security clearances, White House spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters.
President Bush's top political adviser, Karl Rove, was not among the first group, although he was expected to attend an ethics class later this week.

What's next then ......... lessons on how to correctly address the old media reporters?
I've seen plenty of rope-a-dope over the last 5 years but this is getting silly.
3000 staffers????
The stupidity of this is that the media will simply say that the WH is guilty of ethics violations and that's why they need a refresher...there won't be any benefit given to the Republicans, so why do they do it? DO they think that somehow the lefties will LIKE them because they are following their ideas?
They need to grow some....and quick!
yes, sure seems like a misprint to me! 300 maybe?

Next thing you know, theyll be asking Donald Segretti to attend a class or two just for old time's sake.
If they really needed ethics classed they would all be fired. This must be the white house way to fight back at the libs!
who's idiot idea was this? Makes them seem like they are admitting to something.
--this kind of dimwittery is why I who have voted basically against Demotraitors all my life just end up shaking my head and rolling my eyes---
Yes indeed. Ali got away (barely) with rope-a-dope against George Foreman.
But G. W. just may end up like Benny 'Kid' Paret if he keeps taking all this stuff from the Dems.
I wonder what Brit was talking about on Sunday................ mint tea with Joe Wilson for the next few months?
Fight?
While certainly support Ethics training, I couldn't agree more with your posting!!! BUSH NEEDS TO COME OUT SWINGING, I think.
What a waste of time and resources.
This is almost as stupid as taking so much "credit" for the failures after hurricane Katrina.
No one seems to be at home.
This should be a Day One thing, and repeated regularly every year or two.
Ethics restrictions and regulations can be far-reaching and confusing, and every attempt should be made to draw a bright line between what is legal and ethical in a rough-and-tumble political environment and what is illegal and unethical.
Corporate America has classes for varing issues as these all the time!!
Everyone who has access to classified information has to go through these.
And periodic refreshers are mandatory.
In addition, one must acknowledge in writing that one has done so.

Wait until the Dem. media gets a chance to spin this act of guilt.
;-)
Tell that to the N.Y. Post.
