Congresswoman: Three Al Qaeda Caught in U.S. After Crossing Border with Mexico
Wednesday, November 9, 2005 | Kristinn

Posted on 11/09/2005 4:49:04 PM PST by kristinn

Rep. Sue Myrick (R-N.C.) let slip a bombshell disclosure at a news conference today to announce a bill targeting states that allow illegal aliens to get drivers licenses.

During the Q&A with reporters, Myrick gave as a reason for proposing the bill the recent capture of three al Qaeda terrorists at the U.S.-Mexico border.

A check of Google News turned up no references to this incident, yet Myrick stated this was a 'given fact.'

No reporter asked her about this revelation, but it was noted at the end of a Charlotte Observer article by Tim Funk.

Two Representatives from North Carolina, Virginia Foxx (R) and Patrick McHenry (R) stood with Myrick at the press conference. Neither commented on her matter of fact statement.

Rep. Myrick's remarks can be heard online at her Congressional Website here. the statement is made at about 8:45 into the press conference.

A call placed to Myrick's office in D.C. was not answered as the office is closed for the evening.

Transcript:

"Our main concern is, who's in our state? I mean this is a critical issue today. I mean they just arrested down on the border, what a couple of weeks ago, three al Qaeda members who came across from Mexico into the United States. I mean that's a given fact. They were holding them in the jail down there."

"He won't post it unless it's about Madonna..."

Low blow and uncalled for.

He also posts about Michael Jackson.

North Carolina is a mini version of France. Islamofacist beachhead.

I'm surprised, considering how South Carolina's state flag looks like the welcome mat for terrorists:

Seriously, folks; the slow inundation of illegals from terrorist-harboring countries has been known and suppressed for years. They get trained enough to pass as Central/South Americans then scurry for their pre-arranged mosque points. The FBI is ordered to track them but cannot pursue them after they've gained "religious refuge" (lest the ACLU lets the whole cat out of the bag with a revealing lawsuit).

Why, you may ask, if so many are already here why haven't they made any significant attack? Partly due to the "Easy Chair Syndrome" - U.S. culture is mind-boggling and seductive to those raised in ignorance and hardship. I suspect the majority get here, look around closely and say to themselves "Screw the Imam's orders...I'm getting me a piece of this!"

PBS aired a documentary last year where a former Palestinian's family came over to live with him in New York. The matriarch was non-stop on Jew hatred and trying to shame other NYC Palis into a jihad against the Jews. Local boy gave up on the crazy witch and sent their butts home.

Born in Canada, but left Canada because the US is a much better place to live and raise a family. Canada changed so I changed countries.

He was the worst Nebraska governor in my lifetime.

Hmm... Orr, Kerrey, Nelson... that's some pretty serious competition. And Heiney ran off to Cuba and snuggled up with Fidel. And Osborne running for governor may be the one thing he could do to seriously dent his popularity.

[Three caught, but how many not caught?]

I wasn't caught. But then I wasn't there. Didn't commit any crimes either, so I guess I just answered my own post.

"Lets not be tunnel sighted and only focus on the last type of attack. We need to be prepared for the next type of attack: think boxing."

Ditto. Are you able to predict the future?

Last night I saw, on FoxNews (natch), that 2 Chinee-looking or maybe Maylasian? chaps were caught crossing our border with Mexico and they were packing some surface-to-air missiles.
I think maybe Shep Smith added that they were thought to have al Q connections and the missiles were the type that can shoot down airliners.
Can't we at least put some satelites to work on this??? I remember seeing a film- in the 1970's- about our satelite capabilities- able to read a dime from several miles out. That could come in handy. Especially if it also has that see-through-the walls(infra-red?) technology.

Move along people, nothing to see here.

President Bush and Congress see no need to secure our borders.

"Along with the cheap labor that repub business owners love will come al-quida terrorists to murder your children."

1) I suppose there are no, NO, democrat business owners?
2) I bet you have benefitted from that labor, mightily.
3) "... to murder your children"??? Are your children somehow immune? That would be interesting.
4) Hind sight is fatuous.
5) Wahhhh. You sound like you shouted, "I told you so!" from the rooftops, 10, 15, and 20 years ago. I think not.

I noticed that plate but didn't know what state it was from. That is simply appalling.

It's fairly obvious these days from the news that an easy way to get into the US is across the borders. Unless, of course, the Minutemen are on duty!!

I am so disgusted with our border policy which has been neglected for years, this is not a new problem. Coming from California, we were the first battle zone trying to stop them. Unsuccessfully I must sadly say.

Unless and until we close the border we are all in danger. It will probably take another attack for that to happen.

AND, until we punish those who hire illegals they will continue to come. Many, many contractors hire these illegals and pay them under the table less than half of what they pay US workers. It's all about greed, both in the government pandering for votes and the employers saving a few bucks. But, at what expense? Our lives, our families lives? AND, that includes those mentioned above, their families are in danger too, they need to wake up and stop this!

In this AM's home delivered copy of the Charlotte Observer the article by Tim Funk was above the fold. However, the article stopped with the sentence "Our main concern is : Who's in our State?" There was no mention of the three Al Queda caught at the border.

Another sterling example of managed news.

Guess we have plenty of body-bags on-hand... that would explain the lack of interest.

My point in all this is that the INS or Homeland Security really went out of their way to make us feel like criminals at every turn and we went the legitimate route to become legal immigrants.

I can only imagine from my experience at the airports. Best of luck to you and welcome!

Sorry for directing that bitter remark at you.
Sometimes I miss the obvious sarcasm.

"Just an idea."

Brilliant package of ideas. I posted a really lame, truncated version of this before I read you. But you obviously know a lot, and I am not well versed in any technology.

Thanks. When will you run for office?
