Congresswoman: Three Al Qaeda Caught in U.S. After Crossing Border with Mexico
Wednesday, November 9, 2005 | Kristinn

Posted on 11/09/2005 4:49:04 PM PST by kristinn

Rep. Sue Myrick (R-N.C.) let slip a bombshell disclosure at a news conference today to announce a bill targeting states that allow illegal aliens to get drivers licenses.

During the Q&A with reporters, Myrick gave as a reason for proposing the bill the recent capture of three al Qaeda terrorists at the U.S.-Mexico border.

A check of Google News turned up no references to this incident, yet Myrick stated this was a 'given fact.'

No reporter asked her about this revelation, but it was noted at the end of a Charlotte Observer article by Tim Funk.

Two Representatives from North Carolina, Virginia Foxx (R) and Patrick McHenry (R) stood with Myrick at the press conference. Neither commented on her matter of fact statement.

Rep. Myrick's remarks can be heard online at her Congressional Website here. the statement is made at about 8:45 into the press conference.

A call placed to Myrick's office in D.C. was not answered as the office is closed for the evening.

Transcript:

"Our main concern is, who's in our state? I mean this is a critical issue today. I mean they just arrested down on the border, what a couple of weeks ago, three al Qaeda members who came across from Mexico into the United States. I mean that's a given fact. They were holding them in the jail down there."

The problem is that I have seen that the description of the writer and and the language don't jib. I am supposed to be blind to that?

A substantial percentage of these are caught or deterred. There is no risk for the "farmer" since he can just try again the next night but if a terrorist is caught there are huge ramifications for his network. And a twenty per cent chance of exposing these networks is far too high for AQ.

Why would an Iranian be keeping a diary in Arabic?

He could be the delivery person and not the writer of the diary.

There are too many "coulds" for me. I am only giving my opinion of what I would do it I were AQ. Of course it is hard to get into the Mindless Killer mentality so I could be wrong.

Wrong, the vast majority get through. The BP only catches, at best 1/3. On the average, they catch less then 20%.

If your smart, they'll never catch you.

Those odds are way too high for AQ to risk these assets.

Unfortunately, in the future, you'll find out your mistaken.

Those of us that work the border know differently.

I'll bet the Democrats main concern is whether the three al Quaeda are being held in a secret prison.

I'll bet you're right about that. They're also likely concerned whether the three AQ have wet themselves with fear about being deported back to Mexico. Stressing out terrorists in ANY way, shape or form is a huge no-no with the MSM, Democrats, CAIR and the ACLU.

Even a car bomb at a wedding would upset the economy, everybody would blame Bush,

The lefties would blame Bush, neglecting any and all blame whatsoever on terrorists. By leaving our borders open (possibility of contributing directly to a terrorist act), he'd be sitting on the hottest seat short of the devil's throne. American hotels are purportedly a potential terrorist target. There is expectation terrorists "may" be here (understatement IMHO) and ready, willing and able to conduct attacks at will. Be safe and vigilant everyone!

You're right about that. I watched a TV show featuring illegals who waited for "just the right time and place" to get across the borders. If not successful the first time, they keep trying until they are successful. It also showed our BP devised shields of a sort to protect themselves from automatic weapon gunfire. Working border patrol appears to be a very dangerous way to earn an income.

No. But you should be smart enough to realize that the caption was written before the FBI reported on the contents of the diary.

And I would think that by now you'd realize that I've taken an active interest in this story, having posted the original article and a follow-up, and that I'm not in the habit of distorting the truth.

Oops. Sorry. You can't possibly know that...what am I thinking? Nevermind. You just go on thinking that which wish; no anonymous soul sitting at a keyboard is going to dissuade you of your core beliefs.

Thanks for the discourse.

"Update FYI: K-Mart agreed to deportation for the thieves working as janitors for them. Wonder how long it'll take the illegals to relocate north of the border once again."

You know MamaD, this all just irks me. Why does K-Mart have to agree for them to be deported?? Has law enforcement/government in this country gone nuts? These cleaning crews are usually contracted out. The guy that owns that company should be fined or deported himself! [If K-mart was their employer they should be fined BIG BUCKS then]. Yeah I know, illegals doing the jobs that no one else will do. I say put the welfare recipients to work doing all those jobs! That includes all the phony Social Security disability people too.

7 adults living in the house.......where are the 16 children?

The news from the big cities in Texas is all about gangs, shooting, stabbing, rape, murder and DRUNKS DRIVING and killing innocent people........it's horrible and it's not the Episcopalian's. The MickyD commercials on TV look like spanish folks and the words are in spanish.

I rarely go to fast food places, but I was going to stop at a Subway the other night. I walked up to the door and saw about 6 punk mexicans hanging out in there with the one that worked there. I just did an about face and left. Never going back there. Yep just doing the jobs no one else will....but they will lose customers big time!

BTW, Wal-Mart said today their employees will only say Happy Holidays this year not Merry Christmas. I rarely go there either except once in awhile to get contact lenses. Crossing them off my list after I call the local store.

FYI - the ignorant moron that made that policy at Wal-Mart was fired.

I heard it first from an acquaintance last night, then saw it on Fox News with John Scott this morning.

"Classified information slip "whoopsie?"

Or just routine clueless congresscritter brainfart "whoopsie?"

I mean, I'm beginning to believe most of our politicians got into that line of work because of a lack of, shall we say, "cognitive abilities."

Take Kay Bailey Hutchison, for example... PLEASE!
