i believe it is public info in ohio too.

i tried to convince my wife she should get her license, even if just to get her name on the list. kind of a "don't mess with me" list.

i agree that it is 'not right' that ccw holders have to be on a public list... but it think it is not right in that it is just plain silly.

Anyone that gets robbed that wasn't on the list should sue the radio station for making it easily accessible for criminals to figure out who was a safer target. All those that do have permits should sue the radio station if robbed for alerting criminals that expensive guns were in the house or worse, letting them know that they better come armed, putting you at a higher risk of danger.

In Montana you can just look in the phonebook. Anyone in the phonebook probably has a gun. Anyone not in the phonebook, too, for that matter.

I want two things to be done to counter this and expose their hypocrisy:

Every female who wants to get an abortion in florida must get an 'abortion permit'.

The name of those who have an 'abortion permit' would be made public record, just like ccw permits.

Then I want to watch the lefties stammer and say "bbbut...bbut you have a right to an abortion!!! You don't need to get a permit!!!"

Ain't it grand how they think something that doesn't appear in the constitution is enshrined there, but something plainly stated as a basic right requires law abiding citizens to jump though hoops to exercise it?

Perhaps the Texas Freepers can tell me if I'm wrong on this, but isn't this exactly why Texas quit allowing this info out to the public? I could swear if was because of the reason listed above, too (increased burglaries at those residences).

Public info yes, but the radical left reason for doing this is this TV station hates freedom, hates conservatism, hates gun ownership, is pro-gay, pro-Marxist and anti-American.

So, in the interest of "Public Info", I suggest we start a thread whereby we get every person's name who works at WFTV, and publish EVERYTHING "Public" about them...who they donate to, what clubs/orgs they belong to, what books/videos they may rent/own...ANYTHING and EVERYTHING, nothing left out...

That includes ANY allegations that have been made against them, and maybe an interpid FReeper or 2 could do some "on the ground" research, as in follow them and track their EVERY move, as long as it's for the good of the public, and cannot be called "stalking"...unless we can say that WFTV is "stalking" CCW holders?

Who knows...we may find out some nice salacious "public dirt" on them...let them squirm under the scope (nice pun) for a while!

I think posting the names and addresses of CCW permit holders is excessive. Recently the Missouri Sec of State Removed the personal addresses of government employees from the "official government listing" due to protection of confidential information and the fear of retaliation.
Sounds like a legitimate concern for CCW holders. If I have a non published phone number and somebody posts my number on a web site, could they be in violation of "NO CALL LIST" information sharing??

An intimidation play by WFTV??? Reminds me of that line in the movie "Red Dawn" ... how did it go, "gather up all the form 4473's." I suggest contacting Mitch Needleman, the rep who is sponsoring that bill (HB285) to prevent confiscation, and ask for an amendment to restrict access to CCW information.

You should write them and tell them you will send letters to the FCC the next time their license comes up for renewal and recommend that it not be granted. Imagine if thousands of CCW permit holders write letters to the FCC?
