As I stated in post
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1519456/posts?page=18#18
" Gelding old party for sure.
That fact seems to be that the country is more than one half, either traitorous, or idiots, or some combination of both.
It is to those that the Senate and most all other elected officials cater to.
I'm afraid the prognosis does not bade our future well.
See you in the trenches."
If the truth hurts ... so be it.
Sure there are lots of trolls, but getting rid of that mindless rabble isn't going to help the Bush administration, or the Congress to grow a stiff spine.
We laugh at France and the Euroweenies. We will be laughing out of the other side of our mouths soon enough.

I am very glad that you are pumped up and I am always very optimistic and never demoralized. However there are other freepers who are spreading this flase doom and gloom every second and they are demoralized, no doubt about it.

In fact, I see basically the opposite - far from being demoralized, I see conservatives energized and ready to fight for principle and convictions while the left remains shrill and accusatory.Excellent!

I think we can tune out the MSM and know they have an agenda. Push polls, Bush & The GOP are finished reports are constantly regurgitated in the media. That doesn't bother me much. The demoralizing issue here is when republicans don't act as such. Watching Nimrods such as Chafee, Snow, Castle Voinivich, Shays, etc..Siding with Democrats on a litany of issues is the depressing and demoralizing factor. The face and voice should be people like Pence and Allen. Yet it always seems we are fighting two enemies. Liberal Democrats and liberal republicans

I live in WA state, so I'm not happy about the anti-smoking bill passing and the gas tax being passed, but other than that, what did the D's win on Tuesday beside Virginia?
The news out of CA is actually pretty good. The measures almost won, except in one case. Unions have been put on notice, and the conservatives can continue to hammer away at the Pensions in a way that is going to put a serious restraint on the ability of the public services unions to strike in any meaningful way for the next 5 years or so.
California is still blue, but it is way redder than the D's want to admit, which is why the word went around Sacramento that gloating would not be tolerated. Arnie may not have won any of his measures, but the enormous press they garnered, and the huge money the left spent on beating them did its job.
Now the public is watching the unions, and so are its members. Massive damage has been done there, and everyone there knows it. The word around Sacto is compromise. Remarkable being that its one man vs the Senate and the House down there.

The only thing that aggravates me is the spinelessness of the Republicans in the Congress and the WH in refuting these outrageous charges coming from a desperate lib gang of thugs.
To: jveritas
The only thing I find demoralizing are politicians who claim to be conservatives but are in fact big-spending, foreign-welfare loving, open-border weenies who are able to convince people on a conservative board that they really are conservative.

There are FR pubs? Places where you can go for a beer and talk to other Freepers? I need to find out if there is one near me.

I don't see why criticism of Bush should be outlawed and frankly such a thought is contrary to free speech. The fact is that Bush's team has put out some boneheaded proposals and the President has done nothing to reign in spending, enforce the borders or manage the Supreme Court nomination process. The republican party has taken conservatives for granted and will likely suffer for it. Should I vote republican just to prevent a democrat getting into office when "RINOs" (whatever that means today) refuse to give up pet spending projects or support ANWAR? Free Republic is not the GWB cheer leading section.
AMEN!!! The most demoralizing thing that I can think of is the notion that FR should censure criticism of the President. I never saw such proposals on this site prior to Bush's election. The truth of the matter is that the number of conservatives who were critical of Bush was actually quite high back in 2000 and seemed to have dropped off after that.

The news that George Soros is behind the liberal RINOs was the last straw for me. When is Bush going to stand up and fight?

FR is NOT discouraged.. FR has always properly vetted issues..
Especially our own issues.. and our own members.. always.. Thats why many come here.. for that vetting.. If a concept can make it thru a good FR vetting intact.. chances are its pretty solid.. True it don't help when you have a president and a buttload of Senators just begging to get vetted all the way to the woodshed..
Let the vetting begin and continue.. SECRET: the odds of a freeper voting for a democrat or not voting at all, is slight.. Lurkers are another story.. THEM lurkers are a fickle bunch.. Trolls are fun... by and large..
Nah.. nobody discouraged here.. Where else can a sacred cow be filleted and BBQ'ed with ice cold-slaw and a hold mah beer(and cigar).. NOWHERE, thats where..

You are soooooo right. Too many of the Republicans in Washington have become a large part of the problem. How is the country better than it was before the 1994 house-cleaning? What has the GOP accomplished other than to keep the Dems out of power? Conservatives had to jump up and down and scream to keep Miers off the Supreme Court. She was a Republican appointment! What's going on? Something happens to people who get to Washington. Invasion of the body snatchers?

I'm fed up with the whiners, the pessimists, the Chicken Littles, and the woe-is-us crowd. Things were REALLY bad when we had Jimmy Carter in the White House and the 'Rats held both houses of Congress. They were REALLY bad when that jackass from Arkansas stained the Presidency. They were REALLY bad when LBJ was picking bombing targets in SE Asia and humiliating this country by botching that war.
DAN RATHER - DEMORALIZED!!

FREE REPUBLIC - WHICH OF YOU LIBERAL BITCHES ARE NEXT TO BE MOUNTED ABOVE JIMROB'S PC??
