Waterbury Mayor Spent $100K to Educate Voters

Waterbury Mayor Michael Jarjura said he spent close to $100,000 to educate voters on how to write-in his name on Tuesday's ballot.
For the last two weeks, he ran a cable TV commercial 109 times a day, and set up three voting booths so supporters could practice.
Enough voters cast their ballots correctly to give Jarjura 7,907 votes,

Cryptic threads can be very annoying, but I will defend the poster here because he did provide a link which in turn made clear that Waterbury is in CT.
So he bought the votes for $12.65 per. Was this taxpayer money? (Why do I ask?)

Yes, was he successful at getting them to spell his name right? Maybe he got more votes than he knows!
Somewhere out there, a block of Connecticut voters is asking right now who this Michael Jarjura is, and why their write-in candidate Mike Jujube didn't win the mayor's race.

Something smells here. That is an inordinate amount of money to throw at an election in a town the size of Waterbury, CT (notorious for producing the most corrupt polticians in the state, including their former mayor, now in prison for child molestation and the former governor, now in prison for taking bribes). If the press was doing its job (which it rarely does), we would see follow up articles detailing WHO gave him all this money and WHAT they got in return once he was elected.
