WHITE HOUSE: Setting the Record Straight: Sen. Kennedy On Iraq
White House ^ | November 11, 2005

Posted on 11/11/2005 3:07:21 PM PST by West Coast Conservative

"It is regrettable that Senator Kennedy has chosen Veteran's Day to continue leveling baseless and false attacks that send the wrong signal to our troops and our enemy during a time of war. It is also regrettable that Senator Kennedy has found more time to say negative things about President Bush then he ever did about Saddam Hussein. If America were to follow Senator Kennedy's foreign policy, Saddam Hussein would not only still be in power, he would be oppressing and occupying Kuwait."

- Scott McClellan, White House Press Secretary

Sen. Kennedy On Iraq

Sen. Kennedy Said Saddam Hussein Was Developing WMDs: "We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." (Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Remarks At The Johns Hopkins School Of Advanced International Studies, Washington, D.C., 9/27/02)

Sen. Kennedy: "Saddam Hussein Is A Dangerous Figure. He's Got Dangerous Weapons." (CBS' "Face The Nation," 10/6/02)

Sen. Kennedy Now Says The President Manipulated Facts About Iraq's WMDs: "'Instead of providing open and honest answers about how we will achieve success in Iraq and allow our troops to begin to come home,' Kennedy said, 'the president reverted to the same manipulation of facts to justify a war we never should have fought.'" (Deb Riechmann, "Bush Forcefully Attacks Critics Of The War In Iraq," Associated Press, 11/11/05)

Sen. Kennedy Opposed Removing Saddam Hussein From Kuwait. (S.J.Res.2, CQ Vote #2: Adopted 52-47: R 42-2; D 10-45, 1/12/91, Kennedy Voted Nay)

Sen. Kennedy Opposed Removing Saddam Hussein From Power. (H. J. Res. 114, CQ Vote #237: Passed 77-23: R 48- 1; D 29-21; I 0-1, 10/11/02, Kennedy Voted Nay)

Lock and Load. Been a great day in the press for once! And from Scott to boot! I have this funny feeling that he may have enjoyed taking the gloves off!

This swine Kennedy literally kills a girl, and the media quotes him as if he is the moral conscience of the Senate.

I thought the "moral conscience of the Senate" was Robert Byrd, former grand exalted assistant keagle, third class.

Until Congress says the words explicitly we are not at war legally, however much we may be in fact.

Hmmm....well, that sure is a lucky break for President Bush then, isn't it? If we aren't at war, then they can't accuse him of lying to get us into one! There you go....case closed. Now what are the Freedom-hating, anti-American Rats going to go after him on?

Things are confused and they can't be cleared up by your declaring we're at war because you don't have Constitutional standing to do so. Neither does the President. Neither do the Courts. Until Congress says the words explicitly we are not at war legally, however much we may be in fact.

Yes, I heard that too. I wonder if it was from the author of the new book, "do as I say, not as I do"?

Is that the title?

The KK's don't care who Saddam might have been targeting. They don't care about this country in my opinion. How they could see 911 and still spout this crap is beyond me. They are inhuman and evil.

"War has been waged against us by stealth and deceit and murder. This nation is peaceful, but fierce when stirred to anger. This conflict was begun on the timing and terms of others. It will end in a way, and at an hour, of our choosing."

Did the Klowns, Kennedy and Kerry forget that little fact?

They don't think they need to be held accountable for their words or deeds.

And the press isn't going to question them. They're on the same side!

"America is a nation full of good fortune, with so much to be grateful for. But we are not spared from suffering. In every generation, the world has produced enemies of human freedom. They have attacked America, because we are freedom's home and defender. And the commitment of our fathers is now the calling of our time."

>>>If America were to follow Senator Kennedy's foreign policy, Saddam Hussein would not only still be in power, he would be oppressing and occupying Kuwait.<<<

Fat Teddie has always been a coward. Mary Jo might still be alive if he had any courage at all. But I guess every family has a Black Sheep, in one manner or another. His oldest brother, Joseph Jr., and his older brother, John, were WWII heros. Bobby didn't get much of a chance to show his character. But everyone knows Teddie is slobby, loud-mouthed coward. God have mercy on his soul, because I will not.
