I agree. Especially when you consider freepers who make fun of him because of his father.... he did a much better job of holding Rockefellers feet to the fire yesterday than Russert did with the coward dean.
To: NativeNewYorker
And don't forget that Rockefeller is the person behind the Dem's Intel Committee memo that Sean Hannity broke the story on a couple of years ago. That memo said that the Dem's had one shot at using the Intel committee investigation against the Republicans/President Bush. The trigger for that shot was pulled 2 weeks ago when Harry Reid demanded the "closed session."

So, after Rocky-feller tells the Syrians the U.S. is going to attack Iraq, the Syrians call Saddam and say, "Hey, you might want to store some stuff with us for a while."

Typical of the Rockefellers.
Just don't say that Maxwell House is his coffee of choice or he'll REALLY get mad.

he carefully worded it:
"...that it was my view that..."
still outrageous, but probably gets him off the hook.

Good question. Sicne he was hardly ever in DC, perhaps there is an official record of his travel. I always thought, or "felt" as dems say, that he was just blowing smoke, and "speaking to world leaders" was all in his imagination, or at some charity function for the Heinz foundation.

You know, everyone that posts at FR and who wants to, should donate to a fund and FR produce commercials to make this type of information more widely known. I do not know what the cost of commercials are nor the price of air time.

Just called Roberts Office and explained that in the old days this kind conduct was illegal and I'm not sure what it's called today other than conduct that most Americans don't consider appropriate if not illegal. I feel a vast "Right-Wing conspiracy" about to happen. Man your keyboards Right-Wing Pajama Bloggers.

We must teach America about checks and balances and how the constitution vests the power to declare and finance war in the Congress. Not a bad idea, also, to say that the War Powers Act underlined that after Vietnam. Then just list all of the times we woke up to the news that America was bombing some people we had never heard about during the Clinton admin. The contrast in democratic process is very great.

His view would be based on privileged information. He knew something to make him think the President would go after Iraq, what was it?

ROCKEFELLER: No. I mean, this question is asked a thousand times and I'll be happy to answer it a thousand times. I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq, that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11. If this guy went on his personal decision and undermined the US position in the Middle East in the run up to the Iraq war he is a traitor!
