The family of an Iraqi woman who apparently tried and failed to detonate an explosives belt during the hotel bombings in the Jordanian capital Amman last week that killed 57 people and injured nearly 100, says what she did was "contrary our tribe's ethical code" and has disowned her.
"We hope she dies, and we never want to see her again. She is a disgrace," an unnamed family member was quoted as saying. Al-Rishawi, who a neighbour described as "a humble women, without any education or political ideology," is the sister of the right-hand-man of al-Qaeda in Iraq's leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Samer Mubarak Arous al-Rishawi, killed by US forces in Fallujah. She belongs to the Shammar clan, located in Ramadi, one of Iraq's Sunni strongholds.
Over the weekend, the woman, Sajida Mubarak Atrous al-Rishawi, 35, who should have been the fourth suicide bomber involved in the attacks, was shown on Jordanian television, with the explosives still strapped to her body. The Amman suicide bombings were claimed by al-Qaeda.

Okay. So - did they disown her because she tried?
Or because she failed?
Yeah, right. Only because she FAILED.
Probably because the bunch of pychotic cowardly mass murderering subhuman monkey mooselimbs don't want any Jordanians putting out a hit on her entire family.
Oh, now I remember, the only defining point of the current ideology is "I hate Bush".
Therefore, any enemy of Bush is the left's friend, which means feminism's friend.
So feminists cannot bring themselves to condemn the most BLATENT abuse of an ill-educated, nonpolitical woman.
And this follows their unwillingness to condemn Bill Clinton's abuse of women.
At least the feminists have shown who they really are, and what they really care about.
But they're erecting a statue in her husband's honor!
I have seen written attributions that the bomb belt "didn't work" and the like, but on the radio, I heard a direct translation of her comments which were that she "tried" but "failed" to set off the bomb, and this is entirely ambiguous.
Call me a sexist but I think that men make better suicide bombers than women do.
Anybody know anything about the Shammar clan?
Yup. She "failed" to complete her mission.
I didn't say the device failed.
Maybe someone ought to "repair" the device, move her to a remote location, replace the device, and set it off remotely.
Have you considered contacting NOW on this? Don't hold your breath for a response.
As Tom Cervo says, "I think we're getting into a weird area here."
Why? By our lights she's a hero, if indeed she turned away from the act at the last instant, for whatever reason.
I can't immediately put my finger on a link, but I do recall hearing that her particular clan has been divided concerning support for AQI and for the coalition. It is not always cut and dried, easy to figure out.
Where I heard it may have been at one of the audio links given here:

If so, she had a few more working brain cells than her husband and the others. If her family really has disowned her, that might work to the benefit of the Jordan gov't. With not much to lose, she may be convinced to cooperate with investigators.
She said she tried to set hers off but it didn't work, and her husband shoved her back out the door before setting his off.
Guess we're still in Halloween mode. That explains it.
Her family could be quite sincere in disowning her, or just careful to not offend an enemy.
It's a tricky business, and they've been at probably since before history was written.
I do remember that Saddam marked the Shammar for exile or banishment, but I don't know his reason.
Maybe she and slave owner/husband got their wireless detonators switched, and she really detonated him.
No virgins for you, you common mooslime murderer!
Aap aap ahh dap dap!!!!!
