Saddam Hussein was beaten up during questioning after he made an obscene remark about Shia Muslims, a source close to the investigation has claimed.

The former dictator is being questioned by investigative judges before his trial resumes on November 28.

I'm sure the guards considered how to attempt to negotiate a nonviolent solution with the attackers.

Last sentence:

However, the tribunal and the American military both denied that the incident took place.

Saddam's American guards were amused by the incident and did not intervene
