Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald should drop his prosecution of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff. In light of Bob Woodward's recent revelations, suggesting that he could have told Mr. Libby of Valerie Plame's CIA employment, Mr. Libby's conviction seems unlikely.

I wouldn't be surprised if they go on with it. After all, everybody knows that what matters is
THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE CHARGE!

What a fantastic article! It lays it all out, is clear, succinct, and just states the facts.

Not so much that Libby confused Woodward with Russert but that he misremembered which one told him what. It's over

It does seem like he pops up when least expected. What I don't get is why he waited until now.It makes him look foolish,IMO.

Maybe Colin Powell or someone associated with him.

I agree. It's the best summation of today's Woodward revelation I've seen in print thus far.
This and deGenova on Brit's show tells me Fitzhooey is sweating bullets.Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Don't forget Judy and the conversation she remembered weeks AFTER she was let out of jail and testified before the Grand Jury.

We agree completely!
And Joe's lovely and brilliant wife, Victoria, was splendid on Brit's show, as well.
To: nopardons
Yes! They have been out front on this from the get-go.
If I was a player in DC I'd want them on a life-long retainer.
To: smoothsailing
He probably wanted to see how much damage it would cause the Bush admin...and being a rat, he didn't speak up earlier.
Joe DeGenova on Britt Hume's show earlier tonight said that Fitz has to drop the charges, it's clear he won't be able to advance his case with this new testimony by Woodward. The indictment against Libby has to be dropped.
Can you imagine the rats? LMAO...

Well, Victoria wrote the law about "outing covert agents", so she knows it better than anyone.
Both she and Joe were marvelous during the impeachment and the other Clintoon scandals. They are both VERY intelligent and knowledgeable. Like you, I would hire them in a N.Y. minute!

I've heard her discuss the history of the law. I'm no lawyer, but she makes it easy for even a bone-head like me to understand.LOL.
