I just posted that I'm afraid the administration waited too long too, ladtx. This is keeping me awake at night and I have to find a way to distance myself. It's making me sick.

We're written letters and made phone calls to our politicians. There's nothing else we can do and it's in God's hands.

But as God is my witness, if Republicans don't step up to the plate for our soldiers, I'm done with them. Forever.

Here's another American President's view:

"Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs who should be arrested, exiled or hanged."

I saw those sneakers on our local news. It is appalling to me, living in San Diego, that this is even allowed. As if we don't have enough problems with our border, now terrorists are provided a map! Disgusting!

Peach, ditto everything you said. I am heartsick at what is being done to our military and to this country.

Methinks he was taken to the woodshed within the past week or so by his party leaders.

Too bad 'the other party' doesn't seem to be able to do that. 'The other party' seems to have too many renegades running around loose.

Finally, in today's NY Post ...

THE Senate this week passed a disgraceful resolution suggesting that the United States is more interested in getting out of Iraq than in prevailing there. That's bad enough on its own merits, but it is also "déjà vu all over again," illustrating the one area where the comparison between Iraq and Vietnam is apt.

Read the whole thing.

Me too.

Although there is a demented corner of me that rejoices that the PC crowd is not conscious that they are taking a MORE religious stance as holiday is really Holy day, but we don't use it that way.

Same thing with Miss and Mrs. They are the exact same word. It's our connotations that infer one to mean unmarried. I find it preferable to use Miss or Mrs for myself. I really do not want to be a manuscript (Ms.) but it's okay if others like it :-)

I once pulled out a very important cord by rolling a chair over it. Oops!

Although one wonders what a very important cord was doing under the chair.

A World In Labor

Read:
Romans 8:18-25

The whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. —Romans 8:22

Bible In One Year: Galatians 4-6

cover Every now and then the earth lets out a moan. Sometimes it's more of a scream, like a mother giving birth.

The apostle Paul said that "the whole creation groans and labors" (Romans 8:22). These groans often take the form of earthquakes, landslides, hurricanes, or tsunamis.

A song by Sarah McLachlan speaks to this instability and the often tragic results of such geologic flailing. Called "World On Fire," one verse describes dealing with tragedy this way:

"I watch the heavens and I find a calling; something I can do to change this moment. Stay close to me while the sky is falling; don't want to be left alone."

We aren't alone in longing for Jesus, our Savior, to return. As we wait, He is our constant companion. Like the earth, we rant and rave for God to make things right. We as His followers are called to wait "with perseverance" (v.25) in spite of our earthly uncertainties. Someday all of creation "will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God" (v.21).

Jesus said that He would be with us always, "even to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:20). And we can trust Him to keep His word. —Dale Beaver

When earthquakes and calamities
Increasingly appear,
Look up, trust God, He's in control—
Redemption's drawing near. —Hess

Jesus makes possible our new birth and nature's rebirth.

LOL! In the server room, they have very special power cords that lock so that you can't accidentally unplug the power (and cause grownups to cry at work)

But trip over a network cable and it's curtains. Good server rooms have very neat cables such that you can't accidentally undo them
