Your allegiance is misplaced...He is acting on behalf of his position in government, not what his military duty was.<p.

Two separate and distinct positions.

This thread is not about Murtha. There are a dozen other threads on which to bash him, if that is your desire.

This thread is about a brave and vigilant young soldier from my hometown, of whom we are all exceedingly proud here.

It is also an indication that untold numbers of weapons--of mass, major, and medium destruction-- are buried in those desert sands. And the people who put them there want to annihilate us. And all the damn Congress does is blow hot air.

"I won't say anything bad about a man who earned two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star in the service of our nation."

Of course Kerry had three PHs and a Silver Star.

In fact, it's weird, Joe McCarthy was award the Distinguished Flying Cross. I've never heard Pelosi or any of her breed mention that.

Yes, but--Kerry did not EARN them--he received them under a cloud of deceit.

Why are you fighting with me?

I only posted the article to show that there is good news from Iraq every day...news that the mainstream media fear to print.

that is a ridiculous piosition to take---I suppose you want to enshrine Benedict Arnold as well?--Murtha was a good man but has lost his way being in DC for too many years---he may be involved in a upcoming scandal with his brother (lobbyist) and trying to CYA---have to wait and see how this plays out----one thing is sure, his words did no good for the troops in harms way and he should be ashamed to rip at our President when he is in foreign lands doing the Nations business---Demonrats are "scum of the earth"

You know, when you have that many explosives, and that many means of delivery...all put together in one place...I mean, enough firepower to seriously damage and kill tens of thousands of people...aren't they...by literal definition....

WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION?

I just gave myself a cigar.

Do I take it that this is Pennsylvania National Guard? It's a local paper so it doesn't bother to say.

That appears to be a different cache, found closer to Baghdad. But what a find! As of Nov. 16, the weapons cache consisted of 150,000 7.62 rounds of ammunition, 600 propellant charges, 500 blasting caps, 400 artillery fuses, 150 hand grenades, 150 120 mm rounds, 125 rockets, 100 primer charges, 85 82 mm mortar rounds, 68 60 mm rounds, 50 plastic grenades, 35 anti-tank mines, 13 20 mm rockets, 12 RPG launchers, multiple barrels and bags of small-arms ammunition, seven missiles, seven rolls of copper wire, three 60 mm mortar systems, three 55-gallon drums of fertilizer, three rolls of detonation cord, two 82 mm mortar tubes with bases, and one 82 mm mortar system.

Yes, Pennsylvania National Guard. A gallant group of men and women. We buried five of "our" boys here in north-central PA. last month. It was gut-wrenching.

Brian Packer is out of the Grove Street Armory in Williamsport, PA.

"Exactly. Weapons of Mass Destruction all over the goshdarned place!!"

Of course, the definition for WMDs will be continually defined upward, no matter what our troops discover or our intelligence tracks down. At some point, the only thing the Pelosi's and Reids will accept will be the discovery of that giant button that says "Detonate"...and that will blow up the entire world with one push.

I'm still waiting to hear about this and the other large weapons caches found near Baghdad on our cablenews shows. Not a word--not even on FOX.

I guess I better not hold my breath.
