I don't believe this. I'd say what happened to her was probably worse than what happened to Shepard. At least, to the best of my knowledge, they were able to get Shepard to a hospital before he died. The Shepard murder was only considered a hate crime because he was gay, and the killers used some gay slurs to describe the incident when they told their girlfriends about it later.
Compare this to the murder of Stachowicz. After this psychopath Gutierrez murdered her and hid her body, he went and COMFORTED her loved ones while they searched for her? That is simply evil. I hope they give him the chair.
